SteveSantoyo

Steve Santoyo Biography I started mixing in 1980 (Chicago), fortunately catching a break after only 3 years and started the hotmix show (1983) on WCRX 88.1fm (Columbia College), it was a huge success. I continued in the mix for several years on the air, but also peaking the interest of many other radio shows along the way, throughout that time also mixing guest spots on WBMX 102.7 fm, WKKC 89.3 fm, WCYC 90.5 fm, WGDR 91.1 fm in Vermont, and in the upcoming years WGCI 107.5 fm, WBBM (B96) 96.3 fm, La X Tropical 1200am. These days, internet radio shows have played a big part of today’s culture in the music scene, I have mixed on many internet shows throughout the recent years, which keeps me in the groove, and also allows me, the D.J. to stay fresh out there in the music circuit. Production became a part of my ambition in the early 90’s, 1993 is when I purchased my studio equipment and started on my way to yet another passion of mine. I started learning very quickly the dedication and time consuming efforts I needed to be a successful producer in this business, as I was told many times, “experience is the best teacher” that is the honest truth! With that in mind I was on my way and finally in 1996 sold my first E.P. and many more to follow, record labels included: Hot Jams, Underground Construction, Jasper Stone, Renegade, Greedy, Skribe, Witchana, Omnibus, Fusion. I have had a number of titles released and supported by many music circuits in the United States, also outside of the USA. Clubs/ DJ Battles have been a very important part of my career as I evolved from the early days up until today, not so much the battles in today’s era of the music bizz, but looking back it was really very critical to showcase your mixing abilities live on the turntables, in clubs, and battles. Which intern created a mixing/production skill that has always made me, my own critic in perfecting my ability to perform at any level, whether in the studio producing or creating a mix. I am currently staying relevant with the new House Music of my liking, there are so many genres/titles of house music these days, it’s sometimes difficult to explain to people who just want to hear great mixes/music what is what? I just put it out there for everyone to enjoy, as I enjoy doing it, most definitely. Now in 2024, I am actively working in the studio, always learning, that’s a given…working on mixes and production, always moving forward. You can follow me on Facebook/SteveSantoyo67, starrliteprod@yahoo.com also my mixes are presented on house-mixes.com & mixcloud.com free downloads a must. I am available for bookings, contact: Steve Santoyo 773-530-5293 In House Studio, Chicago “ALWAYS MUSIC”

PSYKO-M1
PSYKO-M1

Follow me on Twitter @PsykoMantis Born, and raised in the great city of Chicago, I started playing around with audio samples, and making cassettes for friends in Florida. We used to build skits, play our favorite songs, mix sound effects together etc. It was a time before cellphones, email, and facebook and a way to melt distances between friends. Later on in 1998, I met a DJ by the name of "Gemini" who introduced me to vinyl, and mixing music. I continued listening, making mix tapes, and collecting records well into the 90s when I got my first set of real turntables and mixer in 1996. I experimented throughout the 90s until I got a job at a local cable company running the public access station Channel 4 that served over 100,000 subscribers in the Chicago-land area. I used to play music during breaks of shows produced by local talent. After receiving fantastic feedback from the masses I figured I had a talent for mixing music. 1999 I attended and graduated from the Illinois Center for Broadcasting as my career seemed to be heading in that direction. I produced hundreds of shows "The Basement Sessions Live" and started posting them on Myspace and Internet as it was developing. I spread many of my mixes throughout South America, Canada, and Europe by placing them on public FTP sites, bot-serving them on IRC, and bulletin board systems. It was fun to meet people that tracked me down and have heard my mixes. During the middle to late 2000s, I held residencies at The Zoo, Zentra Lounge, Tini Martini, Champs Sports Bar, Bottom Lounge, Winchester Club. I've played in well over a hundred venues as a guest DJ and MC working with some of Chicagoland's best talent and hustling promoters. Today, while my career sadly has not gone anywhere near broadcasting, my house-music heart still beats loudly and proudly. I still produce weekly shows each more technically embellished than the last. I try to make every show special than the last. I produce all my own content using internet clippings, memes, and photoshop. Flyers are produced for every show, and no mix is ever the same. Today in 2015 I still produce mixes, work with various producers, and align myself with the amazing Chicago House Music Community. It's been a family to me for all these years. The people within the community help me make Chicago home. They are the reason why I'm still here. The people that listen in, say hello, thank me for my mixes/music, and generally give me constructive feedback is why I continue to rock the decks. While I try to use the latest in cutting edge technology, every show I produce is NEVER synced, completely improvised, no set lists, completely random, and I try to keep talking to a minimum. I want the music to present itself in the smoothest form possible. I strive for the perfect mix every time, yet I never am satisfied. My goal is your enjoyment, and the spread of Chicago house to the masses. Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile, listen to my mixes, and PLEASE feel free to download my tunes. I do this for you, I do this for me, I do this for Chicago House Music. I love you all, thanks for being you, and thanks for any additional promotion you provide. Without my fans and followers, I am truly nothing. For this I'm humble.

At just 12 years of age, DJ TITO “LATINO” began exploring his raw skills in DJ’ing. DJ Tito Latino, born Richard Jimenez, was born and raised in Chicago’s Logan Square area, in the very city where House music was born. His interest, love, and talent in the music arena grew while listening to the one and only 102.7 FM W.B.M.X. where he was first exposed to legendary house DJ’s like Jesse Saunders, DJ Ralphi “The Raz” Rosario, Kenny “Jammin” Jason, Farley “Jackmaster” Funk, and Mickey “Mixin” Oliver on Friday and Saturday nights. For DJ Tito Latino, it was the beginning of a new chapter of his life as he coined the name DJ Tito “Jumpin Jimenez” and although young and fresh he quickly became a well-known DJ in the Chicagoland area!
