Funky Monkey met with electronic music in the late 80's with basic from C64 and soon also started with some easy productions. After getting new equipment in the mid 90's he also started to get contact into the electronic music. He started to produce private trance and progressive tracks in years 1997-2002. After this he got in contact with House Music (This was and still is his biggest love) and started to produce house tracks. Now he's spinning at closed private parties and making exclusive sets to the WWW for people and online Radio stations. He began his career in Johannesburg during the height of the rave scene in the 1990s, honing his skills and developing his unique style. In 2004, he immigrated to Portsmouth, UK, where he played at venues across the city and on the south coast. In 2011, he moved to Southeast Asia and has since held residencies at various venues, including Sunset Sunrise, Big Daddy's Diner, Babylon Bar, and Sangdee Gallery. He has also been the sole DJ for high-adrenaline gymkhana drift racing events. Throughout his career, dj-TASK has played in various countries, including South Africa, England, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. He is known for his versatile sets that can range from deep house to deep tech house, progressive house, and techno. With his wealth of experience and technical expertise, dj-TASK is sure to keep the dance floor alive with his dynamic and high-energy performances.

Born in Milan (Italy) in 1975, he began playing at the age of 14; he officially debuted at the age of 18 in the club Old Fashion in Milan: during these years his experience and musical education led him to collaborate with many clubs in Milan including Atlantique, Magazzini Generali, Tocqueville, Casablanca, Hollywood. His eclectic sound retraces the house music in different deep, soulful, funk, tech, electro influences, standing out for his originality and the performance of his Dj -Set. During the following years he toured Italy working together with many clubs: Fura (Lonato Bs), Ecu, Echos (Rimini), Maneggio (Romagnano Sesia No), Post Garage (Milan Malpensa Airport),Fluid (Bergamo) Bambu (Milan), Roialto (Milan), Magazzini Generali (Milan), InnVilllà (Milan), Love (Milano), DeSade (Milan), 11Clubroom (Milan ), 4cento (Milan), Love (Milan). In cooperation with The All Music staff he took part in various events in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Rimini. Then he arrived at Exogroove Communication in Milan and that allowed him to join the staff-dj in club events at Disco Egiptus (Fidenza), Tereviri,(Cremona), Rimbalzello (Salo BS). Between 2009 and 2013 he worked with The Beach, Bambù Lounge Bar and Delano in Milan; he also took part in some dates of the tour in Milan Red Bull. He performed important experiences in Dj Setwith the artists of Bolognese SlowDeepRecords label, with which he still collaborates and performs several “One Night”between Emilia and Lombardy. He takes part in many events with Clubs: Fabrique (Milan), MagazziniGenerali (Milan), Tocqueville (Milan), CastaDiva (Blevio CO), 4cento (Milano), Love(Milano); he works for the Milan Fashion Week parties, the Milan Furniture Fair and Hotel Magna Pars Suites (Milan) events. He cooperates with several european clubs such as: Delano (Ibiza), NoSoloAgua(Vilamoura- Portugal), SubClub (Bratislava), NyX (Lugano), Privilege (Lugano), SuperParadise (Mykonos), and in 2010 he took part in the “Brasil Folia” in Salvador De Bahia collaborating with Club Margherita. From February 2015 up to now he is performing a signi cant experience in Thailand at the Phuket and Koh Samui Clubs: Heaven, Iguana Beach Bar, Surfhouse Kata Beach, Hq,Catch Beach, Sri Panwa, LINK Cuisine & Lounge. From 2020 He joined the Staff of House Radio Digital London Radio Broadcaster and in 2021 began a new collaboration with D.Wild Music Radio - The Wildest Station On The Planet with the Program ""House Music Journey". Co Founder of Taste The Groove Milano, and other projects with other national and international partners as Spanish crews SoundJockey Madrid and Yellowness Ibiza

I started the clubs scene during the 1980s and I was influenced by soul- disco, the freewheeling Jaz funk scene, emerging house, hip-hop styles and Latin . I went to my very first Southport weekender in the early 90's and then I became hooked with the house scene and I bought my first decks and started to play sets in the underground clubs and parties. I was a Part of largest pirate radio station in yorkshire sharing my passion for Funk soul- US Garage & soulful house. Thats history and this is now... Hi allI'm an Ol' school DJ and producer from the nineties when i made six house tracks and Dj'd in many well known clubs in London.My musical Influence comes from playing soul and rare groove tunes when i was a teenager then the Acid House scene took the UK by storm in the late eighties and top producers such as Joey Negro,Dave Morales and Frankie Knuckles etc started producing house music with a soulful feel to it and Soulful house music was born but didn't really take off in the mainstream house scene.I wrote and produced 5 records in the late nineties under the name of West 1 and a sixth,a speedgarage track under the name of BMW with two other colleagues(Butts,Menzie,West,hence the BMW).I also Dj'd at a variety of London clubs including Pacha,Legends,Ministry of Sound VIP room,Venom(as it was called then)and many others.Around 2006/2007 I dj'd on pirate radio stations including SelectUK,993.com and still do guest appearances on www.urbankronix.co.ukAn old friend of mine started nagging me a couple of years ago to blow the dust off of my Technics 1200's and get back into djing and producing.I'm pretty new to House-Mixes.com although I joined just over a year ago so most of my mixes are on www.soundcloud.com/the-dj-westy.I've got around 15 mixes to upload here as well as some new mixes coming up.I've also started producing Soulful House tracks with Reason 7 so watch this space!!!!!.As well as the obvious 2 decks and a mixer,I use Serrato SL4 with digital vinyl so i can play my digital downloads straight through the Technics.Amazing technology,beats carry a box full of vinyl everywhere you go!Ok,that's a little insight about me,just turn up the volume and I hope you enjoy my mixes:-)Yours TrulyDJ Westy(Chris) www.soundcloud.com/the-dj-westy
