Listening to mix tapes from the likes of Neuro, Jooce, Danza, Zone and Fever, ultimately inspired me to become a DJ. I began buying records, even though I had no turntables, and began itchin’ it up on my mum’s hi-fi turntable…. Soon I was “king of the one deck mix” and thought it time to further my DJ skills. At 13 I grafted all summer holidays to get myself some decks… belt drives…Aaargh!!! As you can imagine my skills didn’t improve much until I got my first pair of Technics. Some practice later I began Djing at friends parties etc. In 1998 (aged 17) I entered an advertised competition for bedroom DJ's on a local dance radio station called Splash FM. Play-offs were held with a total of 30 DJ's in all. Each set played was to be an hour long live on radio! I came 1st and won the title of “Best Bedroom DJ in the Fylde Coast”, which soon led to a residency at Zone in 1999. A rapid interest was shown in my abilites and began playing in venues all over the UK. Soon I was to join forces with 3 of the North West's greatest DJ’s Andy Pendle, Rikkee & Steven Jay. We began to promote our own night called FOREPLAY (2000- present). Definately the most innovative Hard House & Trance night around, and proudly pioneers of the underground “bounce” scene which is prominent today. Aswell as promting our FOREPLAY nights around the UK we started to produce our own tunes (FOREPLAYERS - CHEMICAL CREW - CODE 3) which achieved recognition in the bounce scene with plays all over clubland. Currently we are working on all genres of dance music, bounce, hardhouse, hardcore, breaks & electro house + some random stuff! Im especially devoted to Rave Breaks at the moment - dj'ing & producing - can't get enough of it! Total oldskool roots combined with modern production - pianos - breakbeats & rave style vocals - awesome! I first started taking an interest in dj'in around 1998 when I was into bouncy house & trance. I often visited a place called the Tram Shed in Halifax which was run by Pete Monsoon. Over the years I watched others mixing and soon picked it up, thus starting my addiction to vinyl. In 1999 I was introduced to the sounds of oldskool house and was hooked from the off. I have since narrowed down my own particular favourite genre - Italian house music for which I have to give thanks to one of the best teachers of the genre I have come across Rich Law AKA Vinylanimal who not only introduced me to italian house but taught me a lot.  Over the years have built up a nice tidy collection. I enjoy a mix of both dj'in and chasing that illusive rare piece of vinyl. Relentlessly searching for unknown obscure italian gems to feed my ever increasing addiction. Over the years I have been lucky enough to dj at some of the north west of Englands most popular events and venues. I am part of a group of friends who love italian house and oldskool music called 'Mash House Productions' feel free to give our mixcloud and youtube page a visit www.mixcloud.com/mashhouse_productionswww.youtube.com/mashhouse

The mixes that are uploaded on here fall into these categories: PEACHY - a blend of new and recent vocal house grooves with lots of soul and flavours of jazz, funk and disco, together with various recent radio shows with similar playlists. As from 2017, I host a monthly show, as part of Collective Souls, on Boogie Bunker Radio. REPLAY - Old Skool house circa 1988 to 1993 – mainly Italo piano house with a few UK and USA flavours recorded from 2005 to the present day. I always like playing tunes from that era that are unknown or never played in the UK when released. It satisfies my craving to break `new` tunes – even though many are now around 20 years old. I also own a small record label by this name that specialises in legally reissuing Italian piano house classics.
