1992 120617 Raise The Roof (320kbps)

I made this one last December.  I decided to not upload it till the following summer
as these are the sounds you want to listen to on a humid summer night, perhaps in your
car on the way to some vacation spot.  To date, this is the most interesting house
set I've made.  I'm really happy about finding many new old stock records for this set
such as all of the Jason Nevins records, the Candy Rippers, Tututu, and the record that
I just completely used for the cover art, DJ Romain. 

The most exciting record here for me is the last one, Rip N' Joy "Hot Stuff".  I
actually bought this for the other side as Kleez-one rinses this one out but the
"Hot Stuff" side is like whoa!  It's one of those cross over deep house meets 'ardkore
tracks.  It has a light breakbeat but the focus is the rising and falling sub bass that
I normally associate with 'ardkore jungle.  On top of that the track is loaded with dub
reggae sounds, a ska type riff, and what I call, "nyc house saxophones" which is just a
beautiful meme from back then.  I'm going to end up using this track in a 1991/2 'ardkore
set eventually.  I think it would sound great in that context with some Rhythm Section
type tunes.

This mix makes me feel like I'm at an actual NYC nightclub in 1992.. Id be out partying
all night and the following night im just going to sit down in front of the 13" CRT and
tune into FOX to watch In Livin' Color.  That would be livin'.
