Alphatheta Euphonia 100% Vinyl Progressive Breaks DJ mix. By me #AlexDJSimms on Technics SL1210GR’s turntables
I have always been a fan of progressive breaks and been wanting to do a mix in this style for a while so this one has been a long time coming. With the release of some amazing tracks lately it seemed like the perfect time.
I nearly did a ‘Simpler Times’ fan mix as they have plenty of excellent tracks but ‘David’ did his own mix (‘A Long Way to Go’) on Soundcloud so I decided against. But if the ‘Simpler Times’ guys and gals need someone for a warm up or cool down set at their gigs don’t hesitate to get in touch I am not far away! : )
Anyway on with the mix using a mixture of brand new tracks just released and a couple of 20yr classics that stretch their legs and have their full play time as they should. Starting with ‘Joris Voorn’ to open to quickly set up ‘UR2wo’ to get your ears tingling and head moving. I then gradually lower the tempo going deep with tracks from ‘Max Lessig’ (one to watch), ‘Archie Grey’ and ‘Martinou’ until the excellent ‘Above and Beyond’ ‘Anjuachill’ track ‘Shall we begin’. Which is the perfect way of saying here we go as I then ramp it back up with ‘Orbitals’ ‘Belfast Sasha vs the Light remix’ such a classic! I am surprised ‘Dave Seaman’ hasn’t featured this on his Insta posts of him digging in his collection.
Onto ‘Calibre’ with his excellent Cinnamon release… wish he would do more breaks and onto my second ‘Simpler Times' track but this time from ‘Tys’ with ‘Flutter’ which is one of my all time favourites and builds nicely back up to 'Sasha and Artche’ with their amazing release ‘Hold On’ with some proper old school hooks, ‘Bicep’ because how could you not, back to old school with ‘Hernan’ and ‘John Tonks’ continuing with the old school sound with ‘IDE’, ‘Edone’ and finishing with a true spine tingling classic ‘Chakra, I Am’.
All vinyl mixed on the rotary Alphatheta Euphonia using its built in effects to accentuate the tracks. I am sure no one will really notice unless you know the tracks but helps me accentuate my style and is obviously fun.
Hope you like the mix and if so please ‘LIKE / THUMBS UP’ so I know I am not biased in my track selection and it will also help my mix get shared more on YouTube which is always good.
