Bio
No stranger to the game, Ana Vida (Ana Salazar) has been in the mix for over 10 years. Ana was a fixture in the burgeoning SF rave scene in the nineties. Clubbing and record collecting were an essential part of her life- so much so that she often found herself introducing music from abroad to her A list DJ friends. It was soon widely known that Ana had an ear for music that was more than a love of dance music. Subtle nuances and the ability to accurately predict the success a tune would have on the dancefloor made Ana a valuable asset to many top DJs. Ana was not content to be the muse of others, she knew that behind the decks and in the production studio was where she wanted to be and she began building the bridge that would eventually lead her to join forces with Lenny Ruckus and create the production duo Lenny Ruckus & Ana Vida.
With Lenny’s production skills and Ana’s keen musical sensibilities, the two began formulating their musical identity. After a year of solid production work, they found a steady flow to their writing and their sound emerged. Their first track, Rocky Road was previewed to A listers like: The Crystal Method, Carl Cox, Sander van Doorn, Dubfire, Armin van Buuren and Dave Dresden, all of whom gave the track 5/5. They followed Rocky Road with “The High Road” which not only was chosen as the ‘Breakthrough Track of 2009” by Vegas House Mafia Radio, but also won the “D. Ramirez New Artist Music Music Showcase “ in April 2010 and received high accolades by Jody Wisternoff (of Way Out West),"Very very intense, a pure unadulterated dancefloor destroyer which used at the right time will leave the room in tatters." In early 2010 Lenny and Ana were asked to remix Dresden and Johnston's "That Day" featuring Nadia Ali. The remix was picked up by Menno de Jong and released on his "Intuition Sessions 2 – Rio de Janeiro". Later that year, they placed in the top five of Trackitdwon’s remix contest for Sander Kleinenberg’s “This is Our Night”. To date, Lenny and Ana have remixed Dresden and Johnston (“Keep Faith“ and “That Day” feat Nadia Ali), Matt Darey and Lance Blaise, Lenny B aka Sylvane "Weight Of The World", and most recently Andain’s “Promises“.
From San Francisco’s underground parties to festivals and clubs in Latin America, you can find Ana rocking the decks. Ana has the fluidity down with her complex music choices and thoughtful interplay between tracks. There are no accidental mixes when she spins. It’s always about what the music will do to and for people, and Ana plays for no other purpose than to get people off their ass and on the floor! Bring your dancing shoes, because with Ana on the decks there is little chance your will be sitting down.
