I have come to my 1st 100th mixset session! This set is all about myself, my influences, favorite music selections and the community here. I am going to share with you that the past 2 years I have become an HIV patient. Last year I nearly died of AIDS while in the hospital. Gratefully now I am undetectable and un-transmittable with new medication. It has been a hard year to come back but that struggle has geared me up doing what I can here with all types of sets to share. Now with my Truth out to You, Let me bring you through the session >>
This set starts off with a journey through New York City walking into a spot that is premiering (Dubplates) a set of Dub Reggae and Modern Dub a half-hour in turn into the next room of a true NYC (Illbient) set mixed of Dub, Illbient, Abstract Hip Hop, Junk Yard, Jungle/Drum n Bass, Broken Beat and Experimental, the next set moves into a room with a (BreakBeat) set of BreakBeatz, Nu-Skool Breaks, Funky Breaks, Dubstep, UK Funky and Hip-Step n Bass, the final set moves to the rooftop with a (Trip Hop) set of 90z Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Chill-Hop and Loungecore making sure that the Journey was well worth the time and energy...
The photo banner is of Long Beach NY near me and what it looked like after 2012's Hurricane Sandy that brought down the boardwalk and some buildings and homes and they were in the midst of rebuilding. This echoes in my life to this day. May this set give you the feeling of what it's like moving around a NYC nightclub and finding yourself out on the beach reflecting on all the experiences and emotions with a sense of Hope...
