Welcome to a brand new episode and a first for us here at
Strange Cargo HQ – As we get set to embark on a new chapter production wise (&
setting up a brand new studio) - we’ve recently come across lots of elder, in
some cases long since lost recordings and own productions and decided to use
them as originally intended and try to craft a single musical journey, a custom
crafted DJ set made entirely out of our own materials and various snippings off
the studio floor and from over the years to date.

It contains tunes made with Cubase, Logic & Reason and
many are non released or even pre mastered.
The first 45 and 52 mins are part of a prior studio project called recycle
or die featuring My Mind Melts & Shaking Trees Respectively and the idea was to self produce a range of tunes suitable for an entire
DJ set from pre-existing sounds, utilising numerous loops, layers and samples
to reconstruct original musical pieces and interpretations solely from “recycled
content” and from my own DJ collection.

The last part of the mix is entirely own productions.

Credit is due to Rah on Sunshine Ablaze as his original
tune, remixed and the mashed up with additional sampling from me. He was also
studio engineer on The Lost Epilogue.

I was executive producer, additional percussion and sampler
on Magic Octagon and Sunseeker co written with Forces of nature via Tundra
Records.

Magic Octagon was used by C4 as part of their crime spree
season promotion in 2001 and also released on the chilling on the coast
compilation.

The latter self productions all written composed and performed by Adventures in Sound and taken from Music for films that have yet to be made.

Do hope you find something to enjoy in here, it’s most
experimental stuff and goes across a range of genres.  It’s all mostly self taught at this stage and
hopefully be able to bring you something a bit more professional sounding in
the near future!

Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to listen, see
you next Weds for yet more FRESH flavours from the far side ideal for acoustic
astronauts up on a late one!

Good things come to those who wait! I've been looking forward to this and now anticipate at least a few hours of sanity on the job tomorrow. Thanks so much for all that you do, Mark!
