This is one of my most favourite of all the sessions over the years and am absolutely delighted to have finally ripped it off CD. Each and every time I came home to visit my parents over the past decade i’ve tried to get this off the original CD & it simply refused, even to the point of no longer playing. Then, this fine year of 2024, I discovered its got a backup CD without any label & this one finally ripped, wahoooooo.
An old favourite since I recorded it back to back with my mate Matt L (Buster) when living in Plymouth around 2004 & always remember recording it since we both listened to it often back then. This was also a firm car stereo favourite during my final days of working for the bank as had a car journey to Tavistock to make from Brixton, so was a suitable length to pass the journey.
The Human Traffic sample followed by Johnny Depp near the start gives a great kickoff to the mix. Think it’s fair to say Matt’s style kicked off the set and my style (at the time) finished the set.
Gonna be listening to this one a lot again, am sure….wahooooo, it’s finally ripped in time for its 20th year anniversary :-)
