After taking almost almost a year to get past track 8, we finally have made it to the finish line. For the last 3 months, even young Maxwell kicked off after almost any track I played after B, B, Baby….. than, finally, we drop some Blondie into the playlist and he allowed it to continue, wahoo!!
This mix is one for the old school “party” vibe rather than easy listening, we go full on drunken disco mode. Whilst many of these original tracks would have been played at my primary school end of term parties (Think I won 50p for a disco dancing competition at one point) I vaguely recall many were hit remixes down at the Jesters Nightclub on Union Street in Plymouth during the adult drinking days as opposed to soft drink & jelly days. Can almost envisage my mate Guy Perry singing the Tears for Fears track!
Tracks 15 through to 20 are my favourite, they go so well together and built up nicely for Van Halen’s Jump! That being said Tina Turner early on set’s up the session well for uplifting vibes ahead and some of the other tracks I’ve had on this series playlist for over 4 years already waiting for the right vibe to drop. “Nada De Nada” for around 1 year was the opening tune, pleased I waited patiently to drop into the middle of a set, think it worked out so well in the middle for a cheeky little table top dancer!
The mixing at times is a little rough and ready, which goes along with the sound since, as all but 2 were ripped from Vinyl, it gives a little authenticity to a home style party!
It’s a play list which could have followed on nicely from Part 3 in this series! Might go back & listen to that one now actually :-)
The album cover once again is a continuation of the MoneroChan theme. She probably looks a bit too relaxed for this party vibe to be fair.
Enjoy the Party, Long Live Flash, Oops sorry, I mean Long Live Ferris!
