Jimma

Bio

Jimma spun his first tunes way back in 1993, mixing to begin with on a friend's slightly ropey belt-drive turntables. He was immediately hooked and played at a few house parties that year, the earliest existing live recording being from such an event that September. At this stage he was playing other peoples hardcore/breakbeat tunes. A couple of years down the line and finally he was able to buy his brand new pair of trusty Technics SL-1210s which are still in regular use to this day, plus vinyl en masse. In the late nineties a group of close friends, including Jimma, formed the Panik Soundsystem. Panik then proceeded to work the UK free party scene in warehouses, clubs, forests and fields throughout Britain and Europe with Jimma playing banging Hard Dance to a jumping, up for it crowd.
