I don't know even where to begin. But I do know one thing... THINGS happen for a reason. After Deadlinning a brand new printer... Well, I was converting it to DTF, and got the Code of Death... Then hours later... TWO external hard drives BOTH gave up the Ghost, with my artwork, and videos... I was ready to pack everything art-related that's in my 20x20x20 apartment, and put it into storage until after the New Year. I was intending to focus on being drunk every day UNTIL the New Year, until...
An Army Buddy from 1977 to 1980, while stationed in West Germany, reached out to me through Social Media. He has a 'Big Spread', his words...where he feeds the Homeless in and around his area. Every year, he throws a huge Christmas Party. He can sleep 25 to 30 people... He has an Auto Repair Shop on his property... He recycles cans and plastic, you know, for 5 and 10 cents... And every day, except for Wednesday...he serves lunch & Dinner for whoever wants a hot meal. As I said, he reached out to me and asked me, would I DJ at his Christmas Party? I told him I would, but you're there, and I'm here. He asked for my address, and we kicked The Willy Bo Bo for an hour over the phone. Two days later, I get a phone call, telling me that they are so and so, and they are on my front porch. Open up, a delivery.
Three Tech guys... "We are here to set up a remote DJ setup, and we are to tell you to move out of the way...go somewhere for about two hours, or sit in the corner and be quiet until we are finished." I left for an hour, came back...and they were working on the "Video Feed". That was finished, and I was told they will be back tomorrow for a test. Two guys, this time...showed me what I had to turn on, plug in....and told me to play some music. 45 minutes later, I was told I was all set for tomorrow at 1 pm, which is the time I start playing music. I'm one hour ahead, so it's 12 noon in my buddy's time.
I played from 12 noon until 5 am....and I played requests, but I played what I wanted to play, which was a little of everything. He had another cellphone set up where if you wanted to hear something, just text it to my cellphone. He texted me..."If there is something that you really, REALLY want, send me the link. I have your address already. So I texted him the link, then he asked for my bank info. Gave him that also..and told him how easy it would be to deposit into my account. Yesterday, BOTH of them dropped. $2K & my Hiboy EX6 arrives on the 22nd of this month.
So... So this MixTape is...how I felt, and continued to feel.
