Rhythm and Grime, also known as R&G or R'n'G, is a subgenre of grime music that emerged in the early 2000s in London. R&G draws influences from jungle, dancehall, and hip hop. The genre combines elements of grime and rhythm and blues. R&G never really got the recognition it deserves, according to some critics. Many critics and fans believe R&G was too short-lived. The style is typified by rapid, syncopated breakbeats, generally around 140 beats per minute, and often features an aggressive or jagged electronic sound.
