I first got my turntables about 11 years ago, and was really into Underground Hip-Hop. After all these years, I realize that the closest thing we will get to the original good vibes of hip-hop is the house scene. Those undeniable grooves; the good people just looking to get away from the stresses that wrack the average person's brain these days; the DJ truely controlling the crowd.
Having a scratch DJ background gives me a good heads-up in the mixing game, I learned all the tricks BEFORE I learned how to mix, and now that I can I feel more complete.
I have used Serato the last year and a half, and LOVE it. So easy, intuitive, and free!
The 80s, 90, and 2000s. Damn near every song that I have ever heard, I'm only trying to emulate those that were releasing tracks in my lifetime.
