For a few years from 1979 onwards, Britain's decaying holiday camps played host to some of the hippest dance events ever, the Soul Weekenders. From Bognor Regis to Caister, soul fans revelled in weekends of live music that included performances by legends such as George Benson and Marvin Gaye, as well as top DJ sets from the likes of Chris Hill and Froggy.
It's also the era when disco and soul finally "hitched up".
Thus, dave continues his retrospective of dance with a journey into the 1980's and soul/funk.
