I’ve seriously always wanted to do some remixes of ABBA songs and I finally had the means to do so. The big question was of course: which songs of ABBA to remix as they seriously have SO many wonderful songs 🤔
However, back in 2020 I did a remix-project of Michael Jackson for which I remixed 8 songs in stand-alone remixes and 2 extra songs for the 'Michael Jackson Remix Hitmix' (RT. 30.00) which includes 10 popular remixed songs.
So when I started the remixes of ABBA back in 2024 I thought it would be great fun to produce a same project with ABBA songs.
And here is the second song of ABBA in a 'Classic Extended Clubmix' (RT. 8.38) and this time I've chosen the 1979 song "Does Your Mother Know" which never had a Twelve Inch Version released when the song came out back in 1979 but surely deserved one!
So as always I stayed very true to the original version of the song, as I don't want to do injustice to either band nor song. Sometimes I hear these 'remixes' online (on YouTube for example) and they seriously 'musically rape' a good song 😳 .. I don't want to do the same, therefore I always stay very true to the original song and still make it recognisable in my remix. Not like those 'producers' that create an entire new melody that sounds NOTHING like the original song and then just mix the acapella of the artist in ... that's not the type of remixes I like...!
It's OK to add some extra music, if one can (unfortunately I can't as I am a-musical, don't know anything about keys, notes, A-flat, C-minor and so on) but don't go and create an entire new song that has got NOTHING to do with the original single version, apart from the use of the artist's vocals.
As mentioned before, producing a remix of an ABBA song seriously does come with a very well known issue: it’s like robbing The Vatican or trying to break into Buckingham Palace to steal the Crown Jewels! 😲
And there’s absolutely NO need to feel that way, because as said before, I seriously never ever do injustice to either song or performing artist when doing a remix production! Have a listen to this wonderful 'Classic Extended Clubmix' of ABBA's 1979 song "Does Your Mother Know" and decide for yourself if what I said in the sentence before is the truth 😊

Thank you for your reply dj enos.. and you’re in luck: I just LOVE producing remixes like this one of ABBA! In fact, I used to do it for the British DJ remix service DMC Ltd. UK for a little over 4 years until they unfortunately went into voluntary liquidation back in 2023.
