Continuous Run -- programs require that the air compressor pump operate continuously. The pump could be switched from compressing air to just moving air throughout the pistons without compressing it through the usage if an unloading system. A typical head unloading system holds socket valves open in the cylinder head. This mode of operation is more desired once the compressor engine is large enough to cause substantial power fluctuations from the center, or with gasoline engine-driven units that would require restarting.
