Bio

SiHyun Uhm is attending Eastman School of Music in NY. She graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Massachusetts, studied composition with Whitman Brown, piano with Mana Tokuno in New England Conservatory. SiHyun was born in Seoul, Korea. She went to Yewon School as a composer, studied composition with Hee Jung Ahn and Young Ah Choi, piano with JiWon Park and Hae Young Jeon.

She has won Several Choir Competition as a conductor, Quincy Symphony Orchestra, Music World Competition, Koreana Chamber Piano Competition as a pianist. She is the finalist of ASCAP Foundation Award, an honorable mention from Next Notes Competition(2016), merit-based winner of National YoungArts(2016), winner of Golden Key Festival(2016), 2nd place of Avalon Competition(2015), MTNA (Eastern Division, MA in 2014) and got an honorable mention in MA division(2015), and CBS National Youth Competition(2012).

She has performed in World Composer’s Concert in Vienna(2016), Walnut Hill Award Ceremony(2016), Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 2 with Quincy Symphony Orchestra(2016), Rockport Concert, MA(2016), CCPA Concert, IL(2016), NEC Contemporary Festival (2016, 2015), Juventas New Music Ensemble Concert (2016), Avalon Composition Competition Winner Performance, Huston, TX (2015), Solo Recital in Perigee Hall, Seoul (2015), Solo Recital in Walnut Hill (2016, 2015), Walnut Hill Honor’s Chamber Concert (2015), Yewon Chamber Concert (2013), participated in the Youth Festival ‘The House Concert’ (2012), Seoul Arts Center Recital Hall (2011), and Gallery Art Lab in Seoul (2011).
