Andy Senior AKA Andy Edit has been in the DJ game since 1987 having started out playing late 80's House swiftly moving into Acid House and playing at many of the original Blackburn & Revenge Warehouse parties which were the catalyst for the northwest dance music scene along with John J & Greenbins from his hometown of Blackpool! Andy moved to Ibiza for a couple of years in 1992 and had the opportunity to DJ at Pacha, Ku/Bar M/Manumission, The Cafe Del Mar & Amnesia which is still is an experience Andy cherishes to this day. Andy has recently started producing his own material after years of working on and off alongside other artists, most listed below. Hailing from Blackpool the North of England, Andy was brought up listening to Funk, Latin, Soul, Jazz Funk, Northern Soul, Mowtown and Disco – These elements are very distinctive in his productions and his Dj sets. His take on house music is rooted in this tradition having a childhood where inspirational artists and music were the norm leading the way for involvement alongside the early pioneers of Underground House in the late 80s. Andy has worked with a wide range of Djs including Sasha, Mike Pickering, Dave Seaman, Laurent Garnier, Rob Tissera, Graeme Park, John Kelly, Rocky & Diesel, Fergie, DJ Romain, Groove Assassin, John Kelly, John Morales, Moodymanc and a host of others playing at some of the UK & Ibizas most famous clubs inc Pacha, Ku/Manumission/Bar M/Es Paradise/Cafe Del Mar. In terms of writing & production Andy has dipped it toes into this creative media several times over the years, his first collaboration with Chris Thomson(Former member of Hardcore Uproar), Paul Broome & Bongo under the name Dreamscape was a hit way back in the oldskool days but it wasn't until teaming up with long time friend Dave Clough (Davos) to create Triggerefunk did Andy start writing again releasing 3 tracks in quick succession. SInce 2014 and after running the successful small independent label Edit Records Andy has been involved in several more collaborations and remixs and started to write/produce and release his own solo material with the Tracks 'Way Down' reaching No.12 in Traxource Nu- Disco chart and more recently his Remix of Souldrops - Disco Forever getting to No.4 in the Traxsource Nu-Disco Chart and No.15 in main Traxsource Top 100. Also sucess with his last release Ft Asia Yarwood which reached No.14 in the Traxsource Soulful House Chart! Andy currently has multiple new projects on the go with the superb Louise Spiteri, the amazing Linda Muriel (Brand New Heavies/Ingognito) including several remixes, an amazing cover version of a loved & classic Disco song Featuring Chanelle on vocals & another remix of a much loved 70's classic with Jamelle Jones on voclas! i started djing at 16 after months of begging the parents for months to buy me some 1210s,which i still use today going strong.my passion in music has to be old school piano,retro and vocal funky house if you cant sing to it then its no good lol.in the early nineties i started going clubbing,and for me to this day was the best for music.when i first got my 1210s i had no intension of djing in clubs it was just a hobby for and for my own enjoyment.i was actually tricked by a fellow dj and good friend who was already djing in clubs,when he phoned me up one thurday night and said he was ill and needed me to help him out and play at a bar for him,to which i found out later it was actually a dj competition to which he entered me and to my surprise i won to which the prize was residency at bradfords biggest dance club which pulled 700 to 800 in every friday and saturday night,my first night djing in the club was christmas eve which was packed out and i was shitting it,it was a big difference mixing some tracks in the bedroom and then to bid audience but i absolutely loved it and was hooked,and so my djing career was born. within the first year things went from strength to strength playing in numerous clubs all over yorkshire and holding down residencys and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the country (alister whitehead,k klass,paul taylor just to name a few) i was more known as a dj for my old school sets and so i was made a resident for retro which took me to ibiza djing at eden and loved every minute. in the mid 2000s i began working with a fellow dj (adam g) at a place called bar me which was just a bar not a club,but in the first 6 months playing there the profits soared 700% and went from a free bar and having to pay in on the door,so we sat down and thought were on to a winner here and decided to brand our own night and event,and so worship was born. our brand of night went from strength to strength holding down rooms at space,gatecrasher,visage and ethios,garlands and many more,we even ended up with our own radio show on a friday night on dvm radio (dance vinyll masters). i think the reason our night worked so well was because we didnt brand it as one style of music it was straight across the board,if it was a classic then it got played. in 2008 we decided to pull the brand as we both wanted to persue over interests,i decided to take a break from djing as it got to a stage where i stopped enjoying it and felt more of a chore going to work instead of doing something i loved. so now im back,loving my music more then ever and back on the scene :-)
