Hi Everyone . I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer, amateur pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically. FINALLY I UPGRADED MY GEAR TO 1 PIONEER DDJ-1000 CONTROLLER/CD PLAYER And. Its an awesome piece of equipment love the sound and effects and the faders are so nice and smooth

In the early nineties, I've played professionally in Bratislava, at the time when the country begun it's transition to new and better times. Early on, I have tried to find my own style and take the extra effort to play stuff that nobody played, especially on the radio. We used to buy DMC previews from London, but more often than not we were on the road to Munich, and Vienna to buy stuff that was not on the charts. House music back then was simple. In 92, I've found my way to the US as a student and begun in Brooklyn with nothing but bag of clothes and about a grand in my pocket. It was an awesome time, the music scene in NYC was great, Funk Master, Junior Vasquez, Chris the Greek, Hot 97. I've spent a decade studying and working in the city, and eventually landed in Charlotte, NC. Once you were a DJ, you will never look at it the same way, you will always seek that new sound and inspiration. This platform allows me to experience that feeling once more!
