I started listening to music since he was 8 years old, my first console I got it at 17 I was delighted with the years 80s, then I am passed to the techno-acid. They were good times and all vinyl. In 1994 I started to appreciate techno -hardcore, after which they are passed to the hardcore and still are today. I'm not a professional DJ. I also began to appreciate the genre hardstyle and rawstyle. However I like all kinds. Mark Maddox is a Dj from the Northwest of England with over 25yrs experience. Starting out as an 18yr old doing warm up sets for the 96.7FM Radio City Dj's in Mr Smiths Warrington, he soon started getting a reputation for being a diverse Dj as he mixed between genres to build up an energy on the dance floor. That quickly saw Mark being asked to do some warm up sets for the cult tv show Hitman And Her with Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachen. Going past the 90's Dance and Rave scene, Mark fell in love with House music. That passion allowed Mark to grow even more as a Dj and it wasn't too long before he was doing full House sets for some of the worlds most renowned brands. Over the years Mark has travelled across the UK and Europe playing on gigs alongside the likes of David Morales, Erick Morillo, Chicane, Pete Tong, Tall Paul, Boy George, Judge Jules, Whelan and Di Scala (now Camelphat), Anton Powers, David Dunne, Dave Graeme, Esquire, K Klass, Pianoman, Awesome 3, Dream Frequency, Dancing Divas, and many more... as well as playing sets with some of the worlds best Sax, Percussionists, and Electric Violinists to ever grace the dance music industry. Mark has performed in front of crowds ranging from 50 to 10,000 for club brands and venues such as Cream, Ministry Of Sound, Gatecrasher, Enigma Ibiza (ex Kanya Beach Club), Es Paradis Ibiza, Eden Ibiza (where he performed the closing set of the summer in 2019), Ibiza Rocks (for which he held a residency in 2019), Float Your Boat Ibiza, Beat Herder Festival, Widcombe Festival (where he closed the stage after Basement Jaxx), and the sell out Indian Summer Festival (where Mark's brand Royal House held their own tent), and Utopia Ibiza Festival where Mark has headlined for the past 2 years (2021 & 2022). I started Dj in in the middle 90’s after graduate from Specs Howard a friend of my got me into it Alisa Berry is her name to be exact. I have had a deep love for music since childhood with Mom singing and Dad playing with the saxophone she being a homemaker and pop an Air traffic Controller this meant I grew up with an eclectic background in music from Jazz, Soul, To Rock and roll My Dad’s favorite group is Cheep Trick . . lol. Not from Detroit born in Milwaukee WI. I moved around a lot because of my fathers Job, but I mostly grew up in Detroit a product of the Detroit Public School system “Redford High School to be exact “Go Huskies.” In High School and College where I became a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity house music was everywhere and I loved it. I remember after I crossed we heard my Frat brother Kevin Saunderson drop “Good Life” at an EMU party. I remember the music Institute and still have the flier from the three-day closing! House music has been a main stay in my life. I have produce podcast The Jazz Suite and Gospel Jazz Podcast for more than 6 years I’ve hosted internet radio show Treasures from grandpa’s attic and The Chris Kelly Show for SVMIX internet radio. I still do a Soul podcast called Getting-it-in Soul it has always been about the music. My business partner convinced me this year to start Djing in front of an audience again and I love it!!! I choose the name Dj J.Squared is a homage to my mother who passed away in 2004. My nickname growing up was J.J. because I’m named after my father so to pay homage to the woman who introduced me to all that I love about music so Dj J.Squared was born. I started deejaying when I was 14 years old. I remember my brother buying Technics 101. Then after he the famous 12 hundreds. The turntable we're and still to this day one of the best turntables that the Technics have ever brought out. I started spinning vinyl at an early age. One of my first DJ competitions was a roller skating rink called, USA. I was a mobile DJ for many year and then I started getting gig's doing Holiday floats for the radio station Hot 97 FM in New York City. I think it that it was a huge success in my part. I then started deejaying in a lot of unknown Clubs. Then I started going a lot famous club back then. All I know is that the best way to listen new and upcoming music was to be surrounded in all types of Clubs. There was a club to be in everyday of the week. I met many successful D jays like, Little Louie Vega, Roger Sanchez, Freddy Turner etc. One day my cousin got a break in the Copacabana. His name is Jason Hernandez. We were always a Team. We spun there for a few years at world famous Copacabana (the original one). Then I worked in record co, Dig- IT International (Irma USA). Then I got married and played in a few more Clubs. Now i'm spinning in parties and I still get the crowd Jumping!
