Welcome all, to “love and best of music”, where we try to share the best of all genres to fit all tastes. Permit me to share a little about my history, and how `love and best of music’ came to be and its aim. Firstly, allow me introduce myself…. I am `DJ Chonka’… a gentleman of slightly older years (Very late 40s early 50s), who has amassed a fondness for quality sounds along with a few grey hairs. Having the fortuitous luck to have been born in the early 70s, I was blessed to have been surrounded by great music, introduced in my early years, by my mother (shout out to mum, love your posts on the Love and best of music’ Facebook Group), influenced by such an eclectic array of sounds. Ranging from Reggie’ (Reggae), soul, Motown, to funk, gospel,!synth-pop, and the likes of Bryan Ferry and the brilliance of Kraftwerk from the 70s early 80s… alas, there are far too many to mention. Those influences paid me in good stead for my formative years, as I learned more about my own musical tastes i.e., mid-80s electro (shout out to the b-boys and the b-girls out there living the dream), then comes the mid to late 80s early 90s, and the start of the second summer of love for the UK, with electronic dance music and the indie scene kicking in. I was a young man who fully embraced the music of the times such as Frankie knuckles, Marshal Jefferson and a guy called Gerald. It was the early 90s rave scene, breaks (Breakbeat), big beat, rock, among others, where i had the opportunity to try my hand at mixing on the `1s and 2s’ (decks), mainly breaks with the odd bit of big beat, trip hop and techno. Whilst being privileged to see some great bands perform at festivals during the same years. Which leads us to about 5-6 years ago, where the first seeds of the love and best of music’ were planted. Social media had given me an opportunity to share my love for music with friends and friends to be (as they say “a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet”). So not only could I post my favourite tunes and mixes with everyone who loves music, but they too would have a platform to share their favourite music or influences, even their own mixes, or maybe even a composition or two of their own. 2022 is an all-new beginning for the love and best of music’…. We now have a YouTube, Mixcloud and Twitch channel, where you can find the best in all genres of music to fit all tastes, we will be live streaming on each of those platforms. To be in the loop, catch us on the love and best of music’ on Facebook and don’t forget to Follow’ us for any new content there. Check out the links, and don’t forget to like and hit that Subscribe button. Thanks for checking us out. Peace. Love. Happiness. Chonk Out! Hey everybody on the World Wide Web, Let me start by saying that I LOVE music (in almost every form/fashion/genre it comes in) . Music is my passion and I love the feeling I get when I see the people on the dance floor react to the tracks I'm playing for them just knowing that what I'm doin behind the decks is having a direct effect on everyone's good time (that's a truly addictive feeling). Now for a lil background history on me. I started out collecting records around 86-87 & I started DJn around 1991. I've been in a few DJ contests over the years & I have also pressed my 1st record on my own imprint PressYur Trax 2 Vinyl Records a few years back. In both my DJn & music production I do not like to limit myself to a certain style or genre, rather I try to see what's goin on in as many flavors/styles/genres of music that I can get in my ears & then with that musical knowledge I can incorporate certain aspects from each of them in new & exciting ways for my audiences. Now when people ask me what type of music I enjoy playing usually give them the list of genres I can hold it down in. Those include House, Breaks, DnB, Chillout/downtempo, Acid jazz, Disco, Techno & I also have a selection of Ol' skool hip hop, Experimental stuff and a few other surprises here and there. It has been thru this multi genre appreciation of music that I have been given the opportunities to be able to perform @ such functions as ambient gatherings w/both Andy Hughes and LX Patterson of the Orb, funky break parties w/Robbie and Gavin Hardkiss, Huda Hudia & Sweet Charlie, warehouse shindigs w/Brett Johnson, Boo Williams and Glenn Underground and DnB raves w/Dieselboy, AK1200, Squirt and most of the Jungle Sky crew. I am currently available for booking & I am always more than happy to perform for any size crowd, pretty much anywhere that an opportunity presents itself. So if any of you promoters, talent scouts, booking agents out there would like to inquire about securing me for a date in the future to join your line-up or events - Please send a private message to my profile page on facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/DJ-Jon-Wang-A-New-American-Hero-147574408639931/. Also, please include your name, e-mail, phone # & your company name, city where the event is taking place, name of the venue, # of rooms & the hours of operation for the venue, amount of the door charge, venue capacity, age limit allowed @ the venue (21+/18+/all ages), technical specs (type of turntables, mixer, ect.), other DJ's have you booked for the event, names of other DJ's not yet confirmed for this event, type(s) of promotion for the event (flyers, website e-vites, radio ads, ect.), the proposed time slot of my set & your offer for my services {in U.S. dollars} (or you may request for me to contact you allowing us to negotiate my fee) *[please note - the cost of flight, hotel & any other travel expenses will be covered by the promoter as a separate cost from the booking fee, Thank you]

living life to the max and loving it. ok so heres my story. about 30 years ago i went clubbing all by myself, sad!! i hear you say but not really is my answer as i loved what Djs done and wanted to do it. At first i used 2 portable cd players and a mixer that did not work out so well lol. i then upgraded to cdj's paid loads of money but still felt as if my work was lacking in areas my beat mixing was way off and i had high and low tracks which sounded quite bad in the mix. i then had some lessons in beat mixing which helped me loads. i joined up to house-mixes and met some very helpful people there who help me loads with my mixes im still very critical of my own work and always mix on the fly. i pay for all my tracks as i thank the ones who made them. i will give you my work for free so if you want a mix, message me and i will hook you up free of charge 😁 my fav quote: its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. respect😁
