I wanted to make another mix to go with my suite of "No Maskarave" sets. I had recorded a 1996 Hardstep DNB set but I'm still not happy with it. Also after the Joey Beltram set id rather hear something more upbeat and energetic so I thought to revive the "The Way I Feel" series which is about modern DNB that sounds like the early 90s. So for this installment I'm focusing on playing the big hands in the air tunes that came out. I also took the opportunity to play two records I bought recently, Johnny L "Lets Roll" which samples George W Bush to comedic effect (I almost wonder if he was talking about bicycle riding.... he was an avid cyclist, how strange) and Digital "My Sound" which I missed when it came out. I also made sure to put in Facs & B-Key "Astaroth" (XX006) because I recently picked up a World Cycling Productions DVD "The Big Six" which is about Lance Armstrong's TDF experiences. It was only a dollar at the dollar store. While I was watching the movie I heard something familiar.... Facs & B-Key "Astaroth" (XX006)!!!! No kidding! So the cover art (If you can see it with the house-mixes.com server outages) links both XXX006 and Johnny L "Lets Roll", aren't I clever....
So yeah that's it. I don't know if this is even any good. I usually play these mixes loud before uploading them but for this time I'm uploading them first so you can hear them fresh like I will be tonight. I'm a little worried that the Stratus tunes at the end will distort. If I find it to be troubling, I will re-record that bit and re-upload next week.
