Musical Notes

The concept for Crystal Clouds was born as a result of a trip I took down South to the beautiful Republic of Costa Rica, a country known for its stunning sandy beaches, lush green rain forests and vibrant musical cultural practices. In order to to communicate its beauty through sound, I've incorporated a variety of raw natural sounds found in everyday life and nature into the music itself, such as singing birds, and waves washing up on the sandy beach. You can also hear a number of other very distinct instruments throughout these songs such as trumpets, saxophones, guitars, harmonicas, and marimbas which can commonly be heard while walking down the streets from some of the local music venues. By fusing everything I have mentioned so far with the signature steady drum beats of modern day electronic music, an assortment of synthesizers and a collection of unique sound effects created by warping and stacking multiple sounds together, I've created a complex but somewhat hauntingly beautiful wall of sound.

Each song is designed to tell a story or paint a picture in the minds of the listeners, and show them that music does not necessarily need words to convey its intended story or emotion. I've centered the concept around the title of the project "Crystal Clouds", where each song is named after something relating to weather, which can in many ways effect ones emotions. By listening to each song in the order given, you will be taken through a range of emotions ranging from anger, frustration, hopefulness, desperation and happiness to name a few.
