Giovanni di Mola (aka. DJ GIO) grew up in Astoria, Queens and was a New York City clubber for years from CBGB's to Squeeze Box to The Saint to Twilo (Sound Factory). He relocated Upstate to Hudson, NY in 2004 and began playing at town nightspots like The Hudson River Theatre, Jason's Upstairs Bar, The Red Dot, Helsinki Hudson and The Basilica. Gio has been featured in VICE Magazine, Italian Vogue, GENRE Magazine and TimeOut NY β and currently serves as Music Advisor to An Upstate of Mind (www.anupstateofmind.com). Outside his home turf in the Northeast, Gio has DJ'ed events in Europe and the Middle East, and has curated music for a number of private & public events. Gio's sets feature a mix of dance music genres from around the world from past to present β including New Wave, Indie, Disco/Nu-Disco, Electro, Rock, Motown and beyond. This is my second upload page (djvic67 is my first- but i can't upload there anymore for some reason). Music has always been part of my life, and I've been around for quite awhile now. i started djing back in high school at 14 but my love of music started when i was 5. ive played everywhere from house parties to clubs and even radio and will play anywhere the music takes me. this is a journey i started long ago and no matter where i am this is my passion. so sit back and take a ride with me and enjoy the music. Yes my friends, i am basically a slave to the house rhythm and a DJ for life. Started way back in the very early 90's and have never lost my love of music. Progressed from jumping around like a lunatic in a tent on a regular basis to being a club DJ once the scene had moved into the nightclubs and away from big tent events such as Raindance, Energy, Cryptonite.....if you're old enough to remember lol
