DJ Chris aka The Funky Munky was a semi-professional Club DJ back in the 80's, in those days spinning the vinyl discs to Hi-Nrg music which was the mainstream of that day in gay clubs through the world. Chris started Djing in The Euston Tavern in London in 1983, and also did a guest Dj apperance in The famous Heaven Club in 1984. Moving on from London he then went to Milton Keynes where he was the resident DJ at The Loft in Wolverton, then onto becomming the resident Dj at The Regent Club in Northampton which he did for about 5 years, at the same time he also did every other friday night at The Princess Royal (also in Northampton). In the early 90's Chris moved into the resident spot at The Lord Raglan in Wolverhampton. Chris has also done occasional DJ sets at the The Flamingo in Blackpool during the early 90's as a relief Dj. Today DJ Chris (The Funky Munky) is no longer a professional DJ, but he still produces great podcast Dj Mixes of modern Electro Funky House, and often does many retro mixes such as Hi-NRG, Disco, Eurodance, and Remixes to name a few. I am a true Old School Style DJ... Started DJing while attending South Gate High back in 1985. Back when KDAY was an AM radio station, and had TonyG as one of the their DJs. In fact it was after seeing TonyG DJing at La Casa Camino Real (off of Washington and Oak in Downtown LA) that I began to start DJing myself. Over the years I have mixed at several of the known clubs in Hollywood, Los Angeles, El Monte, Huntington Park, Long Beach, and several other cities within LA / Orange counties. Than for about 15 years I worked as a Freelance Lighting Audio, Video tech, and DJ as well, providing my DJing services in in the Special Events industry. Most of which were weddings, private parties, and corporate events. I mix both English and Spanish music with a music library of over 80,000 songs covering most genres of music from the most current hits of today and going back as far as the 50's & 60's. I recently moved to Reno, Nevada to be close to my parents who are getting up there in age, so I could spend quality time with them in their remaining years.
