I was born 49 years ago and have been close to music since childhood. As a young man, I decided I wanted to become a DJ. **My professional start** came in 1993. That’s when I fully committed to mixing and creating music for discos and club events. My distinctive style and energetic performances quickly won me popularity, and I gradually became a familiar face in the local club circuit. **During my career**, I had the amazing opportunity to travel and perform on various stages. These experiences enriched me immensely, not just musically but also as a person. I learned to feel the crowd’s energy, and my mixing skills became my trademark, propelling me to the top of the local DJ scene. **After years spent in the prime of my career**, I felt in 2008 that it was time for a change. Born & raised in London, I grew up surrounded by lots of cultures which groomed me to hear & love many musical genres. In my teens an amazing man whom I looked up to (R.I.P. Clement) gave me a pair of Gemini belt drive turntables & told me to practise & make it a way of releasing my pent up energy... Since then I have played at all sorts of events from Universities to bars & clubs to special events & parties! My musical influences come from a wide, varied range of input both as a child growing up in a house of HiLife, Motown, Soul & Funk music mixed with my own tastes in Hiphop, Indie, Garage, RnB etc. My life changed when I heard The Notorious B.I.G’s 1997 Album, Life After Death. The thing i love about music is EVERYBODYlistens toit in some form.Whatever warp of life in every corner of of the globe,music can be heard.I ve never met a single person who has told me they don't like music. Mygenre ofmixes are quite broad.Put simply,if i like it,i'll mix it!! Feedback is always welcome.(the good kind is prefered...!!) If you do download a mix it would be cool to know whether its for a party,car,your mp3 or whatever???... I am constantly on the look out for tracks to mix up,recommendations welcome..thank you. Born in Perth where I developed a passion for house and techno from a guy named DJ Puff. Leaned to mix on a set of 1200's and a copy of Daft Punk Homework. Moved to Melbourne in 2001 and started DJing to keep food on the table under the name matteshaper.
