Over the past few years, Twitch has racked up a number of notable achievements in his electronic music career. In 2009, he ranked in the top 15 DJs in Chicago according to The Dj List and is currently in the top 10, he's worked with well known international producers, and he's found many talented musicians and vocalists to collaborate with in past, present, and future projects. Twitch has released numerous original productions and a handful of mix CD's since 2008, and can be seen performing regularly in Chicago's hottest venues. Throughout the years, Twitch has shared the stage with and opened for some of the industries best and most successful artists such as Mark Knight, Sharam, Green Velvet, Derrick Carter, Benny Benassi, ATB, and more. Twitch has spun at all of Chicago's best venues including Cabaret Lounge, Cherry Red, Four (now the Evil Olive), Level, Lumen, Mannequin, Mix, North Beach, NV Penthouse, Religion, Republic, Sauce, Sound-Bar, Stone Lotus, Spy-Bar, The Rave, Vision, Zentra, and many more. He is now a resident DJ at Chicago's very own Sound-Bar! High fashion boutique "Republic of Couture" has snatched him up to represent the brand and spin at the store, located at Woodfield Mall, on a regular basis. The brand sponsored CD, "R.O.C. This" is available exclusively at the store and was released in April of 2009. ; It includes tracks by Twitch himself: "Nervous" feat. Angelee, "So Over You" feat. Hannah, "The Rhythm" feat. Chessa, and "You're Not Mine" feat. JoFa. In the past, he has also released a mix CD for Clubline Chicago Magazine called "Dancing in the Dark", and a LIVE mix at Sound-Bar, titled "LIVE at Sound-Bar". His single "Salvation" featuring Chessa (which was released in November of 2008 under Absolutely Records Italy with a massive remix by Phunk Investigation) hit top 100 on both BeatsDigital.com, and DjDownload.com under the progressive house section, and his colaborative progressive/electro house stormer (produced with Justin Braun featuring vocals by JoFa), titled "You're Not Mine" has been getting radio play around the globe. In late 2008 Twitch started a record label called "Murky Beatz". He is releasing new tracks on a regular basis, so keep your eye out for the label. Other than being owner of Murky Beatz, he is a DJ for Clubline Chicago Magazine, and spins for Exact Events on a monthly basis. His production is a combination of all of his favorite genres with hard hitting drums, nervous basslines, catchy melodies, and sexy vocals!! His DJ sets consist of unique flawless transitions from break to break, that keep the dance floor moving no matter what time of the night. With over 140 remixes to his name, 27 years of DJing, and 24 years of music production under his belt, Jim Hopkins has solidified himself as a San Francisco legend. With roots dating back to the beginnings of the San Francisco rave scene, Jim Hopkins played regularly as one half of The Electroliners at such famed venues at Homebase and Planet Rock. Jim has seen much success from his long list of original productions including the '95 Anthem "Loose Caboose", many of which were released on his own label, Twitch Recordings. The Jester started DJing back in the year 2000 when trance was at it’s peak. He continues to rock dancefloors at local nights such as STOMPIN', Vanity's All I Wanna Do Is Do It, Hard Culture, Hijacked. techniks 1210's mk2 decks. behringer sound board. numark mixer. sony 300w special edition house amp. kef 300w speakers. pc. splitter. and loads of gizmo's n gadgets. mostly old speedgarage tunes that everyone loves. hiya everybody.. im pip..aka dj twitch or dj gaines'y as im known old school.i'm 27 and i've been playing for about 6/7 years now and i absolutely love it... i play happy hardcore. gabba. trance. power trance. hardhouse n hard trance. speedgarage n b-lines.. im a bedroom dj n i love playing at private house parties n local venues.. i've played in tha wagon and horses arms down stanningley in leeds n tha cricketers arms up seacroft in leeds and my friend plays in tfb's in pudsey which i sometimes play there as a guest dj. i'm jus starting to get my head into drum and bass because i love the suttleness of the power trance dnb vibe some of the tunes have... i lurrrve basslines of any style...the darker the better... aswell as happy basslines... im not a very big fan of 4x4 but i play it if requested.people think im a little potty n wild because when im playing i like to be a little different and inventive towards my sound. i once did a mix which included a complete mix through of trance to hardhouse to speedgarage to hardcore back to hardhouse n trance all completely mixed ready for cd.. i like to try things out of the box and take tunes that little step further..if anyone can help me towards my goals or to try tweak my sound a little i would be greatly appreciative. Twisted Pear are James Watts and David Hughes, hailing from Norwich and Cambridge respectivley. They have been DJing together since the late 90's, after meeting in High School. Influenced by a wide-ranging spectrum of dance music over the years, and after having built their skills at various house parties, they decided to enter Outline Magazine's "Dex Factor '07", which culminated in an explosive set at the Mustard Lounge in Norwich. 2008 was big and was spent working hard in 'Pear HQ, honing a sound and playing around with various elements of musical technology. The first elements of production came by the end of the year. The guys also took the step to DJing with Ableton Live. Twisted Pear as we know it was born, and a radio appearence on Crackerz and Jam's Future Radio show rounded off the year. 2009 saw the beginning of Twisted Pear's promotion, DNA, a techno and tech house project based in Norwich. The nights guest was Nick Bowman, an IDJ Raw Talent Winner. A firing headline set at MAZE followed (Norwich's notirious house/techno shindig), to a great reaction. Mixes are available on PodOmatic (follow the link), and it seems as though the rest of the world is now catching on to the funky, dirty main room tech and techno sound of Twisted Pear. The Pear continued 2009 by headlining East Anglia's Techno event, SecreTechnoSociety, and then jetted off to Ibiza to headline Tek Disko in San Antonio. On there return to the UK, they played at one of the UK's best venues in Ministry of Sound for Plastic Fondu @ the Gallery, playing alongside the likes of Judge Jules, Deepgroove, Boy George, Camilo Serna and Tall Paul. These appearances have signified Twisted Pear's intent within the dance music community, and with productions including 'Corrode' gathering support from other DJ's, there next step is to be signed to a label to allow others to enjoy there work. As we stand now looking forward, with more production, headline bookings and remixes in the pipeline one thing remains to be said - Twisted Pear are here to stay!
