Started DJ'ing in the mid 70's in Sydney Australia, moved to Surfers Paradise Queensland in the late 70's and worked at The Penthouse Nightclub until the late 90's. No longer an active DJ but now own and operate my own club in Surfers Paradise.

DJ JD has spent the past two decades building an impressive resume by immersing himself in the club and private event sectors. He developed his love of DJ’ing through the versatile musical influences whilst growing up. He couldn't wait to get behind the decks and put into practice what he had learned. Starting his career as a DJ rocking the house parties back in Johannesburg - South Africa, he explored various styles and genres with a focus on dance, hip hop and RnB. JD began creating his own fusion of house and party vibes for clubs and private venues whilst executing demands of the dance floors. From weddings to clubs and cocktail bars to private events JD ignites his passion for music and sounds from the far reaches of the globe. His adolescent years were spent challenging the resident DJs of well established night clubs to DJ battles where he gained a wealth of experience and knowledge of reading the crowds. With an extensive music collection ranging from golden oldies to the latest pop and charts and with subscriptions to record labels JD is able to keep his music repertoire fresh and current. JD believes the most important thing when playing is that his sets must be fun, getting a crowd going by playing popular songs fused with versions people necessarily haven’t heard before, capturing the imagination of the dance floor. worked as DJ ,in Manchester clubs late 70,s and 80,s ,also worked as backup/ agency DJ at the Warehouse & then best club in the world "The Hacienda" later married , went mobile (earn extra money) ,moved to entertainment agency ,worked most of the hi end hotels around Manchester and surrounding areas, to up head Dj residency at the Willows Salford ,up until it closure ,retired from the DJ scene , when wife was taken ill ,most of my DJ life was in the club scene , but northern soul was my escape, early in life I used to go to the casino , blue room, twisted wheel catacombs' torch ,mecca, plus rake of smaller venues: :Sincere apology's to any that have followed me , have not done much on here or work wise , I retired from the Club & DJ scene , when my wife found out she had cancer ,spent most of my time looking after her ,however since loosing her battle with the big C ,(July 2020)and the fact she told me to throw myself back into music once she had gone ,I am doing just that ,everything I upload from Jan 2021 is dedicated to her memory ,Thank you for the time we had together my love, gone but not forgotten. R.I.P Elsa my one and only Love, . . . And as always NO stupid intros ,talk overs, clip like :your listening to ??, a mix by DJ (Whatever the Name)or anything else all you hear on my mixes , is the music from start to finish Please note i don't push my mixes on here , its all done by ear if you like the mix tell your mates to listen or d/load thanks any northern soul fans drop me a message let me know where you are I'm based in Stockport, ps if your wondering why no track lists , well because some djs on here took my mixes as there own , naughty naughty , so if the few are going to do that the few are going to have to do some work sorting out what the tracks are ,no doubt other have had the same problem ,and as a result fill there mixes with intros etc , not me ,you get wall to wall music

hi there welcome to my profile page on house mixes let me tell you a bit my self well im from a market town called abingdon on thames which is six miles from the city of oxford i started my djing way back in 1991 by going up to local club in town and helping out a mate of mine do some slots for him this turned to a full time slot in 1992 by doing thursday and friday nights to then doing all 3 nights in my time at club ive played n various other clubs up and down the uk to even when on holiday in canada was asked to do a guest slot . after almost ten years doing the club scene i turned to mobile discos and been doing that ever since at the same time i started djing on the radio al internet radio stations my first internet radio station of which i was a webmaster for was titan fm which then changed name to titan world radio from there after its closure i went to digital sounds barnsley then onto dynamite radio to finally destiny radio now concertrating on my mixes these days but still open for offers on gig work to on weekends update ..... from destiny radio went to gemini sounds radio and then golden grooves radio then to soical music radio for 2 years and now new direction radio
