Originating from sunny Bournemouth town and loving every second of dj life down on the UK South Coast is XJ. A passionate and meticulous dj whose pin point precision mixing, together with sensational tune selection has his crowds up and glued to the dance floor. XJ applies his sharp and seamless style predominantly to Drum & Bass, House, Trance and Hard Dance, but also enjoys the challenge of dabbling in other genres. XJ has had music running through his veins since birth and began getting more closely involved with music at the age of 13 when he picked up the mic and tried his hand at being an mc. After a few years on the mic XJ had the urge to mix and started messing around on a few of his friends decks. He then became a family man at an early age so XJ took some time out from the music scene and in 2005, he finally acquired his own setup. After a couple of years playing his vinyl at every chance he could get, XJ was ready to play out in his home town. He got involved with some local events and played at several Bournemouth hot spots including The Old Fire Station, Empire, Dusk till Dawn and DNA. When XJ attended university in 2010 he met a few like-minded dance music enthusiasts and together they launched their first drum and bass event Fracture in Bournemouth at the club Dusk Till Dawn. After the success of this event XJ’s passion and drive grew and the rest is history. His monthly residency at SoHo has become a regular hot spot for the local, house hungry bar hoppers. In 2017 XJ toured around Ibiza for his debut on the clubbing island, supporting the Parasol Ibiza Tour in association with Darkest Before Dawn Records. In 2018 he took his skills and sound to Ayia Napa as a resident DJ for Ayia Napa House Party hosted by House Party Events, along with house legend Junior Jack and 48 other national and international djs. In 2019 XJ returned to Ayia Napa with House Party Events alongside his fellow residents and up and coming djs Craig Knight, Franky Wah and Hot like Detroit. Next up in June 2019 will be XJs first festival slot, Home Farm Fest in Somerset, followed by his next summer booking at the largest festival in Wales: Logic Festival. The next step for XJ is production so watch this space! XJ thrives on his crowd’s reaction to his exciting musical journeys, so if you like what you hear and want to see him in action at your event get in touch. Having been around for over 2 decades,. Starting his career as a Pirate Radio dj in the mid 80's my style evolved with the various musical genres Dub, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, Disco to early House and Drum and Bass. I remember back in the days when raves were promoted primarily by flyers printed on actual paper and distributed to record shops that had bricks-and mortar storefronts lol you could go and visit that a DJ profile used to just mean someone name and their affiliations to rave collective and, later to record labels. Sure, those DJs that were big enough to have an agent probably already had a paragraph or two about them written down somewhere, but they circulated in a smaller, closed circuit of professionals I am very passionate about sharing with the audience what i think are the greatest records of the moment or what i think are timeless classics. To me, music is a universal language. It so diverse and speaks to every person differently. The way it's presented to the audience is just as important as the actual music".

Got into electronic music  in '88 when I moved to the UK to study, missed the summer of love in '87 by a whisker but got into raving with mates from Uni. and from there onto buying records, DJing, organising underground club nites, recording and producing. Now older and wiser, but still heavily into electronic music, well music generally really.

Mark was born in 1971 and raised in the picturesque town of Falmouth, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cornwall, UK. At an early age, he was brought up on music as his mother force fed him on the sounds of Elvis Presley. During the 80's, a very fine era...he grew to like the sounds of Duran Duran. After a few years, Mark and his parents had to move to a small town next to Basildon in Essex called Laindon where one day, Mark happened to be taking one of his leisurely strolls and came to a small hall where he actually witnessed a group of 4 practicing with synthesisers. To this day, Mark always believes that he saw Depeche Mode practicing, back then when Vince Clarke of Erasure was a key feature to the foursome. Music in Mark's life has played such a valueable part. He used to be picked regularly for quizzes as his knowledge of music is very widespread. During the late 90's, Mark was invited with the local job centre back in Falmouth (as his parents decided to move back home a few years previously) to attend a job based scheme. The invite was at BBC Radio Cornwall studio's in Truro, Cornwall. Something Mark always wanted to do. He was to be trained as a radio journalist and he was even encouraged by a few of the local special dignatries with interviews including an interview with a gentleman who suffered with Parkinson's Disease to raise the awareness in the local community about how individuals could help someone who suffered with this. The station's producer for The Action Desk was very impressed by Mark's technique. Mark was given a small script of questions to ask the gentleman but it seemed that Mark was very interested in the interview as he was able to start asking questions that wasn't even scripted. This had enabled Mark to move onto the next stage of the course and that was to interview Parliamentary figures in the world of Politics. Mark was never particularly interested in this subject but was given the opportunity to interview a major name who was also once an Olympic athlete. Lord Sebastian Coe had attended City Hall in Truro and Mark and a couple of other trainee journalists was invited. Mark immediately made a bee-line for Coe and conducted an interview that BBC Radio Cornwall deemed as more than professional for such a small community radio even that it was owned by the Beeb. This interview was ideal for BBC World Service and the interview was never broadcasted. Mark has been on FM radio however as he was invited by BBC Radio Cornwall to have his own radio show which featured the music of the 1980's. As the station had such a huge variety of vinyl and CD's from that era, it wasn't going to be hard for Mark to pick his weekly selection. But, sadly....his show didn't survive the test of time as the stations listeners found this type of music to be less interesting than that of the music from the 1950's to 1970. Now, Mark has his show "Decades" on a variety of internet based radio stations but would revel in the chance of having the show air on FM or DAB style radio.
