House Is Life and i am addicted Been collecting music for 36 years and very proud of my vinyl collection from the 80's/90's. In my opinion the 80's was the best time for music and left me inspired by the great musicians and artists who left a legacy behind and music is still influenced by those heroes. Not afraid to experiment with sounds and always searching the globe for something a little different, and if recent releases don't cater for my needs, then there is always the archives. My Listening Genre's - House, Soulful House, Deep House, Afro House, Jazz House, Latin House, Tribal House, Lounge, Nu-Jazz, Soul, RNB, D&B, Garage, 2 Step. Music has always been my pastime and enjoyed the occasional gigs and live sets, but never really took my passion to the next level. Life is kinda hectic and faded out of the scene for a considerable time but now back to basics doing what i enjoy, pretty serious about my music and hope that i can spread some joy along the way...love peace and prosperity to all. I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music. Always been in a relationship with Music and enjoy any involvement in listening to, making or mixing, and that has been the case as long as I can remember. I Dont claim to be the best mixer in the world but love the process and have been more than a little excited by the reaction of mates and acquaintances. I initially started loading them up on the net as I was being asked to copy the music and give out discs etc. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> Just seemed much simpler this way. </span> As I said I have always loved music and have written tracks working with great local producers over the years <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> although I tend to just write lyrics these days </span> <span style="font-family: Calibri;">As far as Mixing goes I have a residency in my bedroom most weekends occasionally play in my kitchen and in talks about maybe getting my kit set up in my living room</span> Joking aside, it is very much a hobby but still take it reasonably seriously and always seem to be listening out to tunes that I feel will benefit my record collection. Anyway, please give my mixes a try and if you like them feel free to comment and/or download, thats what they are there for.

I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer, amateur pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically. Khoza here! Born and bred in the Province of Legends, Eastern Cape. From birth to early childhood I lived in Flagstaff then later we moved to Mthatha. Currently based in the nations capital, Pretoria. My first love of music was Reggae largely due to influence from my Uncles and then I progressed into R&B. I caught the House bug when I came across the album from The Heavy Dee Krew's album entitled Mid-Tempo House Hits 45 BPM. After that came DJ Pippi and Jamie Lewis with their In the Mix album. From then on I was hooked for life. I love all things music. Music has this supernatural ability to heal, whether you are broken hearted or just woke up in foul mood. I've been mixing on turntables since 1984. I am also a turntablist. I listen to & mix many genres of music. My tools are: Serato DJ, 2 x Stanton ST150 turntables, Rane Sixty Two mixer & a Dell XPS laptop. I also own 2 Pioneer CDJ1000 MK2 cd turntables, a Pioneer DDJ-SX 4 channel controller & an M-Audio Midi Trigger Pad.
