Following since 2 days ago
I've been DJing since the early 80's playing Soul, Funk, Disco and Rare Grooves. I was a B-boy collecting and playing Hip Hop since it's birth and also Electro. I was very busy guesting at many prestigious UK Clubs and abroad from the late 80's and throughout the 90's playing various styles of House Music. An avid collector of many genres of music for over 30 years and love good productions and quality grooves. I'm currently loving the grooves coming out of the UK House scene. I think the UK are producing the best House grooves at the moment. Although, the US still have some awesome vibes, as always. Please check out the many mixes from many genres that I've uploaded on my profile page. I welcome your feedback. Njoy! Martin P. xx

DJ Chris aka The Funky Munky was a semi-professional Club DJ back in the 80's, in those days spinning the vinyl discs to Hi-Nrg music which was the mainstream of that day in gay clubs through the world. Chris started Djing in The Euston Tavern in London in 1983, and also did a guest Dj apperance in The famous Heaven Club in 1984. Moving on from London he then went to Milton Keynes where he was the resident DJ at The Loft in Wolverton, then onto becomming the resident Dj at The Regent Club in Northampton which he did for about 5 years, at the same time he also did every other friday night at The Princess Royal (also in Northampton). In the early 90's Chris moved into the resident spot at The Lord Raglan in Wolverhampton. Chris has also done occasional DJ sets at the The Flamingo in Blackpool during the early 90's as a relief Dj. Today DJ Chris (The Funky Munky) is no longer a professional DJ, but he still produces great podcast Dj Mixes of modern Electro Funky House, and often does many retro mixes such as Hi-NRG, Disco, Eurodance, and Remixes to name a few. Originating from sunny Bournemouth town and loving every second of dj life down on the UK South Coast is XJ. A passionate and meticulous dj whose pin point precision mixing, together with sensational tune selection has his crowds up and glued to the dance floor. XJ applies his sharp and seamless style predominantly to Drum & Bass, House, Trance and Hard Dance, but also enjoys the challenge of dabbling in other genres. XJ has had music running through his veins since birth and began getting more closely involved with music at the age of 13 when he picked up the mic and tried his hand at being an mc. After a few years on the mic XJ had the urge to mix and started messing around on a few of his friends decks. He then became a family man at an early age so XJ took some time out from the music scene and in 2005, he finally acquired his own setup. After a couple of years playing his vinyl at every chance he could get, XJ was ready to play out in his home town. He got involved with some local events and played at several Bournemouth hot spots including The Old Fire Station, Empire, Dusk till Dawn and DNA. When XJ attended university in 2010 he met a few like-minded dance music enthusiasts and together they launched their first drum and bass event Fracture in Bournemouth at the club Dusk Till Dawn. After the success of this event XJ’s passion and drive grew and the rest is history. His monthly residency at SoHo has become a regular hot spot for the local, house hungry bar hoppers. In 2017 XJ toured around Ibiza for his debut on the clubbing island, supporting the Parasol Ibiza Tour in association with Darkest Before Dawn Records. In 2018 he took his skills and sound to Ayia Napa as a resident DJ for Ayia Napa House Party hosted by House Party Events, along with house legend Junior Jack and 48 other national and international djs. In 2019 XJ returned to Ayia Napa with House Party Events alongside his fellow residents and up and coming djs Craig Knight, Franky Wah and Hot like Detroit. Next up in June 2019 will be XJs first festival slot, Home Farm Fest in Somerset, followed by his next summer booking at the largest festival in Wales: Logic Festival. The next step for XJ is production so watch this space! XJ thrives on his crowd’s reaction to his exciting musical journeys, so if you like what you hear and want to see him in action at your event get in touch. BIOG I've been d.j. ing since 1988 - After discovering house music from listening to Stu Allan's house hour on Key 103 I began collecting house and techno vinyl. During the early 90's I played on Pirate station - Bliss FM in Middlesbrough. During the mid 90's I played at events in Bradford including the stimulations all nighters and floating bong nights. After a number of years in China I began producing my own music and had one of my first productions 'Unite' featured on Radio 1. I've released music as 'James Sandoz' on Peeled tracks and as 'Hydrosphere' on Dash Deep. My influences include Sasha and Digweed, Nick Warren, Pete Tong, Stu Allan, Paul Taylor and Layo and Bushwaka. I am also heavily influenced by the clubs I frequented in the early 90's namely - Legends, Bowlers, Angels, Havana and the Atmosphere events.

Been into dance music since it began really since the late 80's and it come along at just the right time really just as i was becoming a teenager.Had the slight Breakdance/Early electro phase just before that, then listened to the Chicago house,Detroit house and the British house that was around etc, then seemed to naturally progress into listening to Acid house and the bleepy tunes and techno of 89/90 and then theHardcore/Breakbeat/Rave sound that started not long after that.Used to listen to alot of radio (and have quite an intrest in radio, but thats a different matter) and used to listen to Kiss FM (london) back then, and it was a pirate station at the time, and listened to colin favor and colin dale, and steve jacksons house show and Jules etc,and used to record there shows sometimes, on cassettes i still have actually come to think of it.Got all my old tapes together to have a clean up once and iv ended up with 3 carrier bags full of them.Used to drive up the north downs just a few miles away in friends cars looking down above the countryside in kent trying to recieve london pirate stations like FantasyFM. Was always into gettin mixtapes and recording stuff and radio shows. I always liked editing things,tape/CD/even video at times.I didnt know it back then but thinking about it now whenever anyone of my friends was around my house when i was young i was always putting music on or messing around in one form or another in the background putting on tapes or cd's or records or recording something. I wasnt hardly ever the sort of person to put an album on and play the whole thing through like someone normally would.Id maybe play one track, then take it out and play something else, but then maybe go back to the first album again. So that there really should of been a sign that i had a little bit of a dj inside me.lol.Just always liked playing music to people. From liking the early 90s Hardcore music i kept on following and being influenced by the Djs on that scene so naturally fell into drum and bass cos thats the path alot of them djs went in,but around 1995/1996 i wanted a change and wasnt liking the bouncy cheese that hardcore had become.I was abit lost so went back to just all forms of house music.Dabbled in most genres, and listened to trance if i wanted something abit harder. So now im into alot of house styles. And im liking disco influences in dance music aswell, and its even made me appreciate actual disco music in itself, cos i was to young when disco was first around.Used to be very much into roller discos and skating as a kid, from about 8 to 16yrs old and was pretty good at it and loved it,i dont think i hardly ever missed goin to one, which gives images of disco boogie woogie being played, lol but it was just the national pop chart music. We'd all love a time machine but we cant have one..but thats another great thing about music, its the only time machine we have.A song can instantly take you back to a place and time,or to a fond memory and even briefly give you the exact feeling you had when you was back in that time and just for a few fleeting moments you was back in the past again. But then i have a good memory about most things, and can usually hear a song and be abit geeky and instantly know which year it came out and associate some sort of memory with it and how old i was at the time. Became intrested in the dj aspect and mixing music and i certainly felt the buzz of what doing that can create and make you feel inside. You used to listen to those mix tapes/shows and when 2 tunes hit in the right place & key it is almost bloody magical and sends your biorhythms through the roof.lol. but its always only been a hobby. And so from then and until now iv always been into house and electronic music in general.I own Technics, used VDJand recently Traktor to mix,got my hands on some music producing software and dabbled with that.

old classic house music anything with a piano ;-) DJ TOSH i started djing in 1989 in a club in middlesbrough called blaises on a friday night and did the illegal parties at the greenway after hours on saturday nights with mc buzz to form 'the good peoples ball' where we went on to do clubs and gigs in the north east in 1990 before settling in at a club called ''ROCKSHOTS'' in newcastle, where we did once a month events to start with, then changed to every friday due to popular demand.i also did guest slots at local clubs - meltdown in middlesbrough, the eclipse in stockton, after dark in sunderland, energi house in newcastle and the venue in spennymoor before hanging my headphones up from the club scene in 1996 and many a good night was had by all there (and i mean ALL, myself included) playing all the anthems and tunes from back in the day........massive respect to each and everyone of you who went and enjoyed yourself there........ this is your last one for tonight....goodnight, god bless, and have a safe journey home ;-)PEACE LOVE and UNITY
