I grew up in chicago off of divison and ashland as a little kid, and all i heard in that hood was house music (old skool now), and every fri night and sat night i would stay up all night and rec on tapes wbmx and wgci, when the hot mix 5, and those djs were on the radio, there was a dj who was about 9 years older then me and he was showing me how to dj, i was about 7 or 8 years old, then moved to brookfield in 1989 and still listend to house music, but everyone out here was listing to hair band shit, i finally got a cheap set of dj equp about 93, and used that for a while, then got another set of something a little better, and got shitty jobs untill i fianlly bought my frist pair of technics,i ve went threw a whole bunch of diff mixers from gemini- to pioneer, i had the pioneer 500- 800, and now im using the 400, cuz now days everyone is usuing cdjs, so i sold my pioneer 800 to help pay for 1 cdj 1000 mk3, ive djed mostly at the underground scene in chicago, ive djed in kc mo, and ive djed in long beach ca, hollywood ca, san deigao ca, now im trying to get more mainstream and get my name out there into the club scene cuz the underground scene died out big time. ive spun at a few clubs in the southwest surburbs, but i more about the old school djing, with to 1200s and a mixer, now im using serato,, cdj, 1200s but i guess u have to stay up with times. my fav djs are bad boy bill. richard vission, all the hotmix 5 guys, alex peace, dj dan ect, there are to many to list.
