For the year 1996 in Venezuela, we continue with another session live in the "Pom pom club". For
those who have not yet heard the first part, we tell you that "Pom Pom"
was a nightclub of atmosphere that in theory operated from 3am and
closed its doors at 6am, although in practice was so much the influx of Customers
eager to enter, who crowded at the emergency exit door to ask the
doorman to let them enter the premises, this situation became so
frequent that you found customers at 9am still queuing to enter. It
was a bar that offered a music concept radically different from
everything known, a very dense environment, dark with mirrors and full
of smoke, where you could only see the flashes of strobe and ultraviolet
light, is that everything seemed to be Black
and white color to the predominant rhythm of Chicago's darkest
underground house on 12 "vinyls of alternative labels like UMM, UMD,
Dark side and even White Label discs (of handmade pressing without any
label, only a white label with the Identification

the inescapable appointment of all Dj's of Caracas at the end of

pom club became an inspiration for many other entrepreneurs of the

Para el año 1996 en Venezuela, continuamos con otra sesión en vivo en el
"Pom pom club". Para quienes
aún no han escuchado la primera parte, les contamos que el "Pom pom"
fué un bar discoteca de ambiente que en teoría operaba a partir de las
3am y cerraba sus puertas a las 6am, aunque en la práctica era tanta la
afluencia de clientes ávidos por entrar, que se agolpaban en la puerta
de la salida de emergencia para solicitarle al portero que los dejara
ingresar al local, esta situación se volvió tan frecuente que
encontrabas a los clientes a las 9am todavia haciendo fila para entrar.
Se trataba de un bar que ofrecía un concepto musical radicalmente
distinto a todo lo conocido, un ambiente muy denso, oscuro con espejos y
lleno de humo, en donde sólo se podían apreciar los destellos de luz
estroboscópica y ultravioleta, es que todo parecía ser de color blanco y
negro al ritmo predominante del house underground más oscuro de Chicago
en los vinilos 12" de sellos alternativos como UMM, UMD, Dark side y
hasta discos White Label (de prensado artesanal sin sello alguno, sólo
una etiqueta de color blanco con la identificación en marcador negro a
mano alzada). Un estilo tan distinto y vanguardista, que con el
transcurrir de las primeras semanas se convirtió en referencia obligada y
la cita ineludible de todos los Dj's de Caracas al terminar de pinchar
en sus respectivos sitios de trabajo. Pom pom club se convirtió en
inspiración para muchos otros empresarios de la rumba nocturna, quienes
emprendieron la labor de aperturar, dos años más tarde, establecimientos
de corte similar, pero sin mucho éxito cerraron sus puertas al poco
tiempo. Hoy les he traído una sesión de mezclas en vivo que recoge la
esencia de este concepto que contribuyó a inmortalizar en Caracas el
legado de figuras como Frankie_Knuckles, David_Morales, etc. Si eres
amante de la electrónica y el house, tienes que tener estas sesiones del
Pom pom. Nunca ántes existió y no existe en Venezuela nada comparable a
esto.
