After the Great War of 2021, nicknamed “The Leveler,” vast swathes of land on earth were uninhabitable, this mess was Trumps swan song to four turbulent years in office. No one one knows what happened to him after this but his name was cemented in history forever along with Putin and Kim Jong Un. 

Man had to adapt and adapt he did. In 2045 the first colony of humans settled on the moon, now known as New Light. 

Rewind to 2019. The rock band Spiritualized entered the studio to start sessions on their ninth studio album. This was to be Jason Pierce’s masterpiece, rehearsals had gone well and with the current political climate as it was, the songs had an edgy foreboding feel to them. Half way through the sessions disaster struck, Jason was taken ill, very ill. It was customary for Jason to be ill and have a near death experience during the recording of an album, this was nothing new. So much so a small devoted, yet very rich, group of fans had crowd funded enough money to  cryogenically freeze Jason in the event of the worst. In 2019 these funds were used. By now cryogenics had advanced so much that artists, designers, heads of state, great thinkers and generally anyone who had anything to offer to society, were suspended in this state in nuclear proof bunkers, upon their death. Ironically, it was those who were on the verge of destroying Earth that were desperately attempting to safeguard its future. Jason’s suspension was not funded by these people. Jason was not in the first, second, third or even the first hundred wave of people to be awoken from their cryogenic sleep. In fact, when Jason was awoke it was due to a clerical error, thank goodness ineptitude or else he may never have seen the light of day again.

After Jason was woke from his “sleep”, he was deemed an important enough artist to be chosen to be in first wave of new dwellers on New Light.

In 2047 the first rock concert was performed on New Light. Spiritualized, performed their classic 1997 album Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, fifty years after it’s release. This is the music from the after party on that historic night.
