Towards the end one of my top ten songs of all time 911, Wycleff Jean ft. Mary J Blige no matter how many times I hear that it makes me shiver, and cry. The emotions are just so powerful and I know that feeling. Anyway here are a few the artists included that may have been forgotten about but who left a legacy.

Trey Lorenz  began his career supporting singer Mariah Carey on her first promotional tour in 1990.The single  “Someone to Hold”  peaked at number nineteen on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles charts, but the album , however, performed poorly and Lorenz was dropped by his label. Trey returned to a career in background vocals,

Johny Gill’s big break came in 1987, when he replaced Bobby Brown in New Edition During a hiatus from New Edition, Johnny embarked on a solo career. The hits from his self entitled 1990 album include “My, My, My,” “Rub You the Right Way,” “Fairweather Friend” and “Wrap My Body Tight”.

Since the 1995 release of their critically acclaimed Gold selling debut SOLO, they’ve successfully referenced American soul legends without mimicking (creating legendary status in their own right) and they continue to be unlike any other R&B group since.

Meli’sa Morgan’s solo career got off to a great start in 1985, as her cover of Prince’s “Do Me Baby” topped the R&B chart.  Her duet with Kashif, “Love Changes,” earned her another R&B hit that year, reaching number two.
