English DJ Secret - forward Ever Backward Never Actually the name is " DJ Secret" not only the insiders of the local DJ-Underground-scene a term. It is DJ of the first hour. Andreas Knupfer is DJ Secret. It was born to 16.07.1974 in Bonn. Würde man fragen, bekäme man womöglich als Antwort: "Spinnst du? Das ist doch die Trance-Legende schlechthin!", denn der nunmehr 32jährige blickt auf eine über 16 Jahre lange DJ-Karriere zurück. Er ist DJ der ersten Stunde. Während viele seiner - auch durchaus namhaften - Kollegen noch gar nicht wussten, was sich in der Jugendkultur so anbahnt, schraubte er bereits längst selbst souverän an den Reglern. Andreas Knupfer ist DJ Secret. Er wurde am 16.07.1974 in Bonn geboren. Ende 1989 kauft er sich zwei Turntables für 100 DM und fängt an, zunächst den HipHop, später die sich gerade anbrauende Techno-Szene musikalisch zu studieren. Seine erste öffentliche Chance erhält DJ Secret kurz darauf, als er für eine Stunde niemand geringeren als DJ Taucher in der "Music Hall" in Frankfurt am Main vertreten durfte. Fortan boten sich einige Auftrittsmöglichkeiten für den damals 16jährigen Newcomer unter anderem im "Club Sunrise" in Oberursel, im "Palazzo" in Bingen oder im "Orpheum" in Dortmund. Hier erspielte sich DJ Secret einen Namen in der hiesigen Trance- und Technoszene, sodass ihm 1999 sogar die Möglichkeit angeboten wurde, an der Seite von Größen wie Paul van Dyk, Andry Nalin oder DJ DAG aufzulegen. Im selben Jahr verschlug es ihn sogar nach Ibiza ins "Space". Seit 2000 wird DJ Secret regelmäßig für die Love Parade in Berlin und die Street Parade in Zürich gebucht und - verglichen mit dieser Karriere - doch fast schon sehr spät kam es für den mittlerweile 28jährigen im Jahre 2002 zu einer ersten Release auf Drizzly Records mit dem Namen "Complex Problems" zusammen mit seinem langjährigen Wegegefährten DJ Wonder alias Frank Savio. 2004 erschien "Floorfiller Dirty", ein Track auf einem Sampler auf Headshot Records und auf dem gleichen Label kam "Forward" auf den Markt. Letzteres zeigte allerdings, dass sich DJ Secret den neuen Gegebenheiten der langsam abflauenden Techno-Ära anpasste, sodass dieses Release bereits mit dem neu gegründeten Team namens "4WARD-UK" eingespielt wurde. Zwar ist es für einen etablierten DJ ein Leichtes, sich Auftrittsmöglichkeiten in den teils legendären Szene-Clubs der entlegendsten Winkel zu sichern - dafür sorgen schon allein die unzähligen Kontakte, die man sich im Laufe der Jahre sicherte und aufbaute, doch Clubs verschwinden zunehmend, gehen pleite, und das betrifft nicht nur die kleinen, sondern auch die, die einst schwer angesagt Technogeschichte schrieben. Die logische Konsequenz ist eine Gemeinschaft bestehend aus DJs, Produzenten, Leute, die sich um das Booking kümmern usw. Auf diese Weise ist es möglich, Veranstaltungen auch (aber nicht ausschließlich) ohne die großen und kleinen Clubs auf die Beine zu stellen und somit in Krisenzeiten fort zu bestehen. DJ Secret ist jemand, der sich in der Szene bestens auskennt, jede Menge Kontakte pflegt und schon viel gesehen hat. Insbesondere dann, wenn es darum geht, Events in der Szene aufzubauen ist er mitunter erste Adresse. Aufgrund der zahlreichen Verpflichtungen, die er im Laufe seiner Karriere eingegangen ist, wird er uns wohl noch lange Zeit erhalten bleiben, nicht zuletzt durch seine festen Überzeugung: "Ganz klar ist, dass wie viele andere sich auch die Techno Szene gesund schrumpft."
