Music is my antidepressant. I love mixing music, but I usually don't say much...The music speaks for itself...But I'm in the mood to talk today.
Is this too much? lol...I can never tell. I certainly can't choose a genre...so I chose "Experimental". My DJ brain can go insane and all over the place. When I hear a new song that I like, of any genre...I can't just be in the moment and listen and enjoy it...NO...I have hundreds of ideas in my head of how to edit or remix it or I have to dig out old records and remix them to blend with it. And so it goes...over and over and over in my brain...Like a record baby right round baby right round round round. It never stops!!!
"Different Rhythms" all started when I heard the Gorillaz "Silent Running".
There are two versions of it on the new awesome LP "Cracker Island"...A slow ballad version and an upbeat version. My crazy mind heard Donna Summer.
I just had to put them together like a modern day "Last Dance" or "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" Maybe they had the same idea?
Also, the new Algiers...another awesome LP "Shook" and Alanis Morissette's remake of "No Return" from "Yellowjackets" got me digging out old B-52's & Led Zeppelin that just had to mix with Coldplay...and yeah...it's all over the place...but I like it like that. Well anyway...this is the result...Please Enjoy!
