Mikey G, notorious for his hard-hitting, unique sets, is a DJ from Birmingham, now living in Leicester, UK. Mikey grew up listening to a wide variety of dance music and was heavily influenced by the bass heavy music being played around the midlands. He gained a huge interest in Drum & Bass, Garage and Speed Garage. Having been to hundreds of dance events, he decided to learn to DJ himself and began honing his skills, and was soon booked to play at local club nights. He started playing at various Drum & Bass events around the UK and supported numerous big name DJ’s across the scene. He became interested in ‘Jackin House’ and ‘House & Bass’, new styles of music giving a fresh twist on the Garage tunes he grew up listening to. He began DJ’ing at events regularly across the Midlands and as his popularity grew, so did his busy Dj’ing schedule - which is now frequently jam-packed, playing for many various club nights in the House and D&B scene. In August 2015 Mikey was asked to play at the closing party at Summerfest, a world leading skydive event in Chicago USA. After delivering a 6hr non-stop marathon set, he didn't disappoint! Mikey regularly posts live mixes on his Soundcloud page which have gained a large world-wide audience and are eagerly anticipated by many. I Enjoy all types of music. Enjoyed the rave and club scene from 1991 - 1998 Oscars at Clacton-On-Sea Essex was my Haunt back then with some top DJs who I still listen to now and again, DJ Kenny Ken, DJ Rap, Ratty, Jumping Jack Frost, Andy C,Grooverider, DJ SS, Brockie the list goes on. Djs I listen to on hear, Soulful House - DJ Roger Miller and DJ Adrian-Van-Aalst . Mash-ups - Captun B. Jackin House - Dj Simoy & Cheeky D I got into Festivals 1999 - 2008 as I got a bit older :). I was lucky enough to see a lot of great bands Oasis ,Coldplay,The Verve, Phonics etc. My love is still Ska which I still listen to regular, If I hear a track now and like it I will buy it. I have about 100-150 Hours worth of Ska tracks so thats why I have started doing a few mixes for others like me who enjoy a bit of ska. I dont really have a favourite Era I enjoy it all, I suppose the late 70s-80s with UK bands such as Madness, Specials, Selector, The Hotknives getting me into it but there is some good ska coming from all over world.

Hi, I love DJ'ing, I'm doing it for several years now. I mix different styles of music: chill-out, psybient, ambient, progressive tech/trance, blunted beats, jazz or some abstract atmospheric music. I choose records who have an emotional impact on myself and others. I don't listen to mainstream radio-stations. These days I'm mostly active in psybient, ambient and progressive music.
