Serato SL1, Technic 1210s, Pioneer cdj 1000 Allen and Heath xone 32 mixer Apple Macbook I started mixing about 12 years ago with tunes from the hardcore era. This was due to sneaking into my uncles room when he went to work, having a mix and trying to put all the settings back to where they were left b4 he got back! I didnt know half the names just chose things i liked out of what he brought! Alongside hardcore he/we lol had a lot of house thats progressed to more house and garage (uk stuff). Until i took over the ownership of his turntables at the age of 14. I was at this time raving to alot of uk garage so ultimately started building a record bag which became a box! Playing in numerous venues across west london, i found built a name for myself. As garage started becoming more mc based music (grime). i lost love for it and started listening to drum and bass but preferred alot of the more soulful calm tunes. but couldnt stop raving to the jump up. i am an energy man and when i hit my first dnb rave i couldnt believe the energy! This was all taking place but still kept an ear out for other music. One day i decided to see wat the house scene was saying, Bang i became hooked again. but this time i can rave! Im now addicted as my friends say to house music. deep soulful tribal i like alot but if it sounds good i will play it! You can catch me live on saturdays 8-10pm gmt time on www.icecoldfm.co.uk ; Also add me on facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=719386486 http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=719386486 http://soundcloud.com/shane-b-grim http://shanebgrim.podomatic.com/

Dear Friends of Music Since I can go, I have been interested in music. I could never save money during my apprenticeship, because I spent everything on new LPs and musicarrangements. Meanwhile a music studio had become from my room, later even a really professional mix studio. Till this day I observe the music scene daily. Little does more joy than good sound to me. In the meantime, I have mixed more than 40000 sound carriers as well as some sampler. Of course you are able to pre-listen on my homepage my newest CDs. However, you can still discover even more.In the 90s I have often worked also as a DJ. I put on in events, in clubs, in radio stations and in roller skate discos. I have had a music studio called Soundfactory for about 20 years and produce tracks and mix different tapes Nu Disco Deep House Soul Funk Jazz everything I like and if you feel like it you are welcome

I began my love affair with US garage/soulful house after visiting Hard Times in Leeds in around 94. I had been clubbing and collecting vinyl for the previous 2 years but listening to this kind of house music changed my mind. Listening to dj's such as MAW, Roger S, Jazz n Groove, Farley and Heller, CJ Mackintosh, Joey Negro and the Hard Times residents was a major influence on me from this moment onward. Other major influences on me were Graeme Park and also Danny Rampling and his now famous Love Groove Dance Party on Radio 1. I have been playing out for the last 15 years but have held 3 residencies in this time at Kube in Wakefield, Suave at Sugarbar in Nottingham and at my own night called Fusion on a Thursday at Gate Bar in Harrogate. I have also had guest slots at Soul Tonic (Mint Club, Leeds), Niteshift (Manchester), Mex Bar (Wakefield), Revolution (Bradford), Retro (Mission, Leeds and Bradford), PM Bar (Bradford), Tokyo (Huddersfield) and The Retreat (Huddersfield). I have played for the Hustle crew for the last 2 years and now play once a month in Barnsley at Opium No 10 bar and Blah Bar playing funky, late 90's classics and soulful vocal house music.

ATTENTION! Please be aware I no longer post mixes on house-mixes. If you have happened to have recently discovered me or listened to me before, you can find me still posting mixes on soundcloud & mixcloud. Been spinning since 88 and after a 10yr absence I returned a few years back to start mixing again. Before my "retirement", I played at a number of clubs and had residencies at the "infamous" Legends in Old Burlington St and at the Emporium in Soho. I currently mix for fun, but if the right opportunity presented itself Imight be interested in playing out again. My style of mixing is (I like to think) smooth, Itry to take the listener on a rhythmical adventure / journey. I particularly enjoy creating something between the mixes (when possible!) rather than simply going from deck to deck, so if you find yourself; a) loving the tunes, b) having an irresistable urge to dance and c) then realise you haven`t got a clue which tune you`re listening to, then I`m doing my job. My musical style usually falls into 3 categories; deep, soulful or nu disco but always funky. Would love to hear your comments on my mixes, don`t be shy. Click "Follow" and i will send you a notification (only) when i post a new mix. Don`t worry i do not notify as to what i am eating or watching on tv ala Facebook. FELLOW DJ`S PLEASE SEE BELOW; Please accept my apologies for not listening to everyone`s mixes, due to work and family commitments, the little free time I have is usually spent on seeking out new tunes or working on new mixes. I am aware I don`t listen to enough mixes and am trying to make more time for this. HOWEVER, when I do listen to a mix, I will provide an HONEST, THOUGHTFUL appraisal and whenrequested will offer constructive advice. Ido not"COPY & PASTE" feedback. I appreciate what DJ`s can put into a mix and the least I can do is take time to offer feedback befitting the quality of themix. The level of excellence of mixes from my fellow (undiscovered) dj`s never ceases to amaze or inspire me. Keep em comin.

I first started djing around about 12 years ago when i was 17. It was by chance i knew a dj in a bar and one week he asked me if i could do his set for him as he couldnt make it and gave me a brief lesson on what to do and from there i was hooked. I started getting sets playing hip hop and garage in Doncaster and sheffield and then discovered speed garage in 2001 and then started playing that. During that time myself and 2 others started a label called Gridlockd Records which became one of the biggest labels in the scene in a very short time as we were the only label making original tracks. Fast forward 12 years and in that time i played the first bassline set on bbc 1xtra, put together a compilation for ministry of sound (Maximum bass 2007) And had tracks signed to mos and all around the world (Universal). I decided in 2008 that i wasnt gonna pidgeonhole myself to one genre and went self employed as a dj and tutor. Around that time i got my own show on local legal radio station sine fm and my weekend vibes show did so well they moved me from 2-3 sat afternoon to 6-8 saturday night the show before dj legend graeme park. Nowadays i do a show called the history of Dance music on sine fm 102.6fm in Doncaster or www.sinefm.com worldwide every tuesday evening 8pm-10pm.
