Welcome all, to “love and best of music”, where we try to share the best of all genres to fit all tastes. Permit me to share a little about my history, and how `love and best of music’ came to be and its aim. Firstly, allow me introduce myself…. I am `DJ Chonka’… a gentleman of slightly older years (Very late 40s early 50s), who has amassed a fondness for quality sounds along with a few grey hairs. Having the fortuitous luck to have been born in the early 70s, I was blessed to have been surrounded by great music, introduced in my early years, by my mother (shout out to mum, love your posts on the Love and best of music’ Facebook Group), influenced by such an eclectic array of sounds. Ranging from Reggie’ (Reggae), soul, Motown, to funk, gospel,!synth-pop, and the likes of Bryan Ferry and the brilliance of Kraftwerk from the 70s early 80s… alas, there are far too many to mention. Those influences paid me in good stead for my formative years, as I learned more about my own musical tastes i.e., mid-80s electro (shout out to the b-boys and the b-girls out there living the dream), then comes the mid to late 80s early 90s, and the start of the second summer of love for the UK, with electronic dance music and the indie scene kicking in. I was a young man who fully embraced the music of the times such as Frankie knuckles, Marshal Jefferson and a guy called Gerald. It was the early 90s rave scene, breaks (Breakbeat), big beat, rock, among others, where i had the opportunity to try my hand at mixing on the `1s and 2s’ (decks), mainly breaks with the odd bit of big beat, trip hop and techno. Whilst being privileged to see some great bands perform at festivals during the same years. Which leads us to about 5-6 years ago, where the first seeds of the love and best of music’ were planted. Social media had given me an opportunity to share my love for music with friends and friends to be (as they say “a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet”). So not only could I post my favourite tunes and mixes with everyone who loves music, but they too would have a platform to share their favourite music or influences, even their own mixes, or maybe even a composition or two of their own. 2022 is an all-new beginning for the love and best of music’…. We now have a YouTube, Mixcloud and Twitch channel, where you can find the best in all genres of music to fit all tastes, we will be live streaming on each of those platforms. To be in the loop, catch us on the love and best of music’ on Facebook and don’t forget to Follow’ us for any new content there. Check out the links, and don’t forget to like and hit that Subscribe button. Thanks for checking us out. Peace. Love. Happiness. Chonk Out! It all started back in 1990 with The Happy Mondays & Stone Roses. Rave was still underground & Illegal The sound was fresh. It all started when I listened to a mixtape a mate was listenin to he said have a listen to this. I soon started to search for pirate stations around my local area, MIX FM, FRESH FM (Leicester) & KOOL FM (Birmingham). Has I got more into the music I thought I would have a go at DJin so brought myself a pair of soundlab belt drives & a numark mixer & buy my vinyl from 5HQ. In 2009 I thought I would have a go at producin my own tracks. UNDER CONTRUCTION

Exit Point's passion for the music began in the early 90s, a fan of the Madchester sound of The Stone Roses & Happy Mondays, from here, his musical tastes shifted to the underground Rave sounds of the mid 90's after being introduced to a mixtape by a friend. This led to Exit becoming an avid listener of the local pirate stations, Mix FM, Fresh FM (Leicester) & Kool FM (Birmingham). This keenness further led Exit to take up DJ'ing, initially with a pair of Soundlab belt drives & a Numark mixer. Exit got into the Jungle sound in 1994 and would buy his vinyl from the legendary 5HQ shop in Leicester.

Search gremlinradio.com pick the quality of your stream and bang it. Gremlins shoutcast addresshttp://www.shoutcast.com/Internet-Radio/Gremlin%20RadioDJXXhan Welcome to Florida My first commercially available mix.http://mixes.beatport.com/#mix/2386 Support breakbeat artists 90% of the proceeds go to the label an artist. Brought up on hip hop.New to DJing. Old Skool EDM fan. I was a hard core raver in Tampa back in the 90's. My first exposure to EDM was back in Tampa Bay at a teen club in Brandon called OFF limits. . Tracks like James Brown is dead, dominator, out of space, and go speed racer. First time I heard it I was like wow this is incredible. I started hitting Tampa night clubs like the Krush in downtown Tampa where mostly hip hop and booty music was being played. But every so often they would throw in some EDM like let me be your fantasy,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and planet soul. My love for EDM grew. I attended my first late night at a club in Tampa called Ozone. I was confused it was 4am Sunday morning what the hell am I and all these people doing partying at this hour. My cousin car was towed we left at about 5 and over all it was not a good experience. A few months later I met an exotic dancer and we become very close friends. She was a total raver. She use to come home Sunday morning in the best mood wide awake and offered to take me to a place called the Fantasy Ranch. Now I get it. I feel in love with the scene the vibe and the people. Never in my life had I felt so accepted. I attended the Fantasy Ranch almost every weekend after that except when there was a festival going on. The scene became my life. All week I would look forward to Saturday night. When I say the scene was my life I am not exaggerating. I became involved in illegal activities at these events. Many times during rave years i did want to start djing. I was just to involved in other aspects of the scene I just never got to it. In 2001 after many arrests, probation and house arrest I was finally forced into early retirement by HCSO and the FDLE. I ended up with a 10 year prison sentence. I came home in early 2009 with a large list of things I wanted to do with my life. Djing was one of them. I realize I my never play a big club or event. I don't care I look at it as a passion. Things were different when I came home. I went to the clubs I use to go to and they no longer played the music I partied to. It was a different scene bottle service, dress codes and hip hop dj's. I use to be able to go out every night of the week and have a choice of which clubs I wanted to attend that played my music. Now its hard to find a club that plays breaks at least one night a week. So now I don't go out unless its a planned event to see DJs that are in town. I learned a trade on my own while I was inside.

Electro Breaks / Hip-Hop / Deep House / Techno Club MixesBiographyI originally come from the North East of England (Durham), but moved down to Plymouth in 2006. During the early 90's I got into the Northern rave scene and stayed there for a good five years (1991-96). During this period a number of my close friends ended up becoming relatively successful Rave DJs. Being surrounded by this obviously had an effect on me and I ended up getting involved. We ended up starting off our own rave club. Club Hysteria (Spennymoor). I’ve been mixing on and off ever since. Currently I am using Traktor Pro 2 with Traktor Kontrol S4. All of my music is MP3 based. I no longer use vinyl or CDJs as their bulk is a pain in the ass to lug around. With having two kids and a wife rules out having a studio room anyway. The S4 is perfect for my needs. I am currently heavily into Breaks / Electro House / Deep House. I still have fun with oldSkool sets from time to time.

I bought my 1st set of decks in 93..and still have em! :) DJ'd at friends partys and once at BAR PERU bolton waaay bk in 96.... Frequented many of the great clubs in the 90's starting with PLEASUREDROME in farnworth then WIGAN PIER & MAXIMES in wigan, followed LIFE to the mighty BOWLERS,aswell as KINETIC,SHELLYS, and some mint allnighters VISION 93. Put out my raving shoes to pasture in 96,when in my opinion..it all went down hill and lost the 'VIBE' :( The revival of the 'oldskool scene' has got me back into the music that i sadly lost contact with for a few yrs, aswell as breakbeat and nu-rave. Slowly getting into buying vinyl again after a 2-3yr gap of only playing mp3's and loving the challenge. My mixes aint perfect...but hope you enjoy them all the same. My set up- TECHNICS 1200'S BEHRINGER DJX700 mixer. Old and new mixes will be posted as i have loads on soundcloud,mediafire,4shared yaada yaada..all comments welcome, good n bad lol thanks :)
