DJ Ruma and DJ Nicky-Du-Coeur established 'Nuance' way back in 1993 in Cornwall, UK, when as young bucks we started listening to the Radio 1 show - DJ Pete Tong's 'Essential Mix, plus DJ Danny Rampling’s ‘love groove dance party’. We loved enjoying beers whilst listening to dance tunes whilst playing around with the EQ levels on our cheap Stereo pretending we were real DJ’s!! Then we started taking note of DJ names, Record labels and tunes that we liked. We soon started listening to refined music like 'Renaissance' by DJ Sasha and John Digweed, ‘Goa Mix’ by Paul Oakenfold, artists like Deep Dish, and tunes released on Positiva & Perfecto records etc. The list goes on! We then started recording mix tapes and then bought some Technics 1210s and building up our vinyl collection. We essentially became bedroom DJs but also took all opportunities to play out at lots of private house and ‘phase-2 parties’. DJ Nicky-Du-Coeur has musical influences from house to deep progressive house. Nicky is now based in Brittany, France. DJ Ruma has musical influences from jungle & techno, to house, and now melodic house. Ruma is now based in Bicester, Oxfordshire. ‘Nuance’ was born when we wanted a common platform from which we could play and record our mixes for everyone to enjoy. Sadly some of the early Nuance cassette tape recordings have become lost in the depths of time, but our drive, ambition, and feeling for this fantastic music has never been lost, and is now back for revival! We have also adopted our Oxford friend – DJ Dangsterapper, who adds a bit of a different musical angle with his mixes which include techno, tech-house, old skool tunes and breaks. All in all we just want to share the love. So kick back with your favourite drink and enjoy! Nuance Xxx

DJ Ruma and DJ Nicky-Du-Coeur established 'Nuance' way back in 1993 as a vehicle for DJ's with a passion for deep-house / house-with-feeling music to submit mixes, and ultimately DJ out at Nuance themed club nights. Similar to 'Renaissance' by Sasha and Digweed. Sadly some of the early Nuance Tapes have become lost in the depths of time, but our drive, ambition, and feeling has never been lost, and is now back for revival! DJ Nicky-Du-Coeur produced Nuance 001. DJ Ruma has now produced the mix 'Nuance 002'. And with fresh mixes arriving from other talented Dj's from around the world, be sure to check in with us. Enjoy ;-) Follow the movement at: https://hearthis.at/nuance/

I first discovered electronic dance music during the 80s and have been completly hooked ever since. No other music effects me on an emotional scale like edm.I learned to watch out for dance tracks that were in the charts during the 80s and record them on old cassette tapes, around the early Acid House era.My next big leap in the dance music scene was when my cousin played me a dj mix by a guy who id soon come to worship-the now legendary Goa mix by Paul Oakenfold.Amazing and my addiction grew.i listened constantly to his mixes on the Essential Mix and began searching for djs that played similar styles. That was when i discovered Sasha,John Digweed,Nick Warren and the whole Global Underground phenomena & thats when i bought my first set of decks,18yrs on,im still dj'ing and with clubbing trips to Ibiza,Aiya Napa & of course most sat nights in Belfast im still addicted.Trance and Progressive House has changed down the years but my passion for those euphoric hands in the air moments hasnt. My favourite djs are Above & Beyond,i have seen them on a number of occasions and met them twice(top blokes),Jaytech,Jacob Henry and Proff. These guys are rocking my world at the minute and their sounds have helped me through some difficult times in my life and i hope they will continue to do so.NO DANCE MUSIC=NO LIFE :-)

***********Music expresses feelings and thoughts without language. It was below and before speech, and it is above and beyond all words********** Without music life would be a mistake ♫ My grandfather was an amazing musician and influenced my love for music from my early years on. I started DJing at the age of 18, when my mother asked me if I want a driving licence for my birthday or a record player - I decided for the record player ☺ My idols were and are Todd Terry, Westbam, Gary D., Paul Oakenfold, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Tyree Cooper, Matthias Heilbronn and many others. I spinned "live" at a few parties and at some clubs. I love all types of music, so I spinned "Salsa and Merengue" for a few years too - love the Latin vibe. My style depends on my daily mood ;)) House-Mixes is a great site to share our passion for music...keep the vibe alive ☺
