I've been into music for as long as i can remember unfortunetly i was too young to experiance "the summer of love"and rave culture's birth in the late 80's and early 90's but the music from that era has been a big influence in my life. While all the other lads my age at school spent there time concentrating on nintendo i turned my attention to collecting obscure rave tapes and with an older brother just penertrating the scene as an MC i had plenty of oppertunites to gather imformation about the tracks on said tapes, and so my journey & passion for electronic dance music beganI started collecting vinyl at the at the age 15 and i am still collecting today i play a wide variety of electronic dance music that spans over 2 decades i've been established on the underground dance scene for around 11 years now my transition was typical to most DJ's i started working bars and smaller venues and gradually progress to bigger better things.I landed my first residency in 2001 and have been playing in public frequently ever since the styles of music i play range from oldskool house (italo piano ;synth & acid 1989 1995) oldskool hardcore & breakbeat (1992 - 1995) funky house (1999 - present ) & and a little minimal/electro basically if i like i'll play it (i like to think i have good taste in music.)heres a list of my past residency's 2001 - 2002 VOODOO LOUNGE preston 2002 - 2005 BASE BAR preston 2005 - 2006 TOAST lancaster 2004 - 2007 GREEN @ Club Solid preston 2007 - 2008 BLUSH @ Truth preston 2006 - 2007 - LOFT preston 2007 - present HAPPY DAYS 2008 - 2010 - FIVES preston 2012 - present PEACHY @ BUZZ blackpoolplus many many more guest slots throughout the north west.In 2007 myself and a close friend launched an oldskool night called HAPPY DAYS we enjoyed much success in the first 2 years and it opened doors for me allowing me to go back to my roots and finally penertrate the "oldskool" scene;since then i have had the privellidge of playing alongside some of the great pioneers of electronic dance music all i can say is i am honoured to be included on line up's alongside legends such as ..Frankie Knuckles The F.P.I Project Ultra Sonic 2 Funky 2 Xpress 2 Dream Frequency DJ Sy DJ Welly DJ Vertigo Mark XTC Matt Bell Chris Baker Barrie Jay Funki B Rikkee Andy PendlePlus many many more who i will add when i have more time and thats not including the MONSTER line up i;m a part of at the RETRO TRAX 100% oldskool festival next year in may.heres the event link MASSIVE...www.facebook.com/events/473484036015944/?fref=tsThere is still very much i want to achieve in the future but feel blessed to have made as far as i have,i'm not in this for glory or status for me it's about a true PASSION for music that is close to my heart .Thanks for reading my short bio & i hope you enjoy my mixes xIT'S ALL ABOUT THE MUSICfor more info or bookings please contact....e mail djdannynewbold@aol.commobile 07512657022or hit me up on my facebook pagewww.facebook.com/DjDannyNewbold (please hit like if you do visit my page :)peace

Technics SL-1200's MK2, SHURE M44-7-H Carts, Numark M3 anolog Mixer, Records, Sound Forge. Digital mixes are created using Adobe Audition. I regrettably sold all my dance records about 18 years ago (very hard times, I guess!) and there were some right bangers in the collection. I'm sure the person who bought them at the time is laughing now! However, my collection has got back to where it was which includes not just dance music but hip hop, soul, funk and reggae. The first record I owned was 'Roxanne Shante go on girl', given to me by my dad, which I still have. I taught myself how to mix on a new AKai Midi Hi-Fi system (1988) where I figured out that placing the select switch in between Phono and Tape (obviously not designed for that) meant both a tape and a record played at the same time on the midi system. As vinyl back then usually had the same tempo on the A side as well as the B side I was able to make a recording of the vinyls A side using the midi tape deck, play the tape back on the midi system and mix it in with the records B side (with the help of my magic Akai switcher). Yep, you guessed it, scratchin that Akai deck to the death!! After that (1989, year of the funky drummer!) I was lucky enough to be bought a pair of brand new Technics 1210's, with the addition of a 5 channel Soundlad Mixer (Total cost £700). I wish I still had those original decks, but sadly, the decks got broke! Shit happens eh!! Although I gave up the all nighters many years ago, I still have a passion for music in many respects, e.g., listening, mixing, playing and producing it. Music is a universal language, and like John Lennon said 'Music is everybody's possession. It's only publishers who think that people own it". I've re uploaded some mixes so they can be played on here. All mixes are of excellent mp3 quality and provide the best sound played through a hi-fidelity sound system with the addition of graphical equalizer. Thanks for listening, I hope you enjoy :)

The mixes that are uploaded on here fall into these categories: PEACHY - a blend of new and recent vocal house grooves with lots of soul and flavours of jazz, funk and disco, together with various recent radio shows with similar playlists. As from 2017, I host a monthly show, as part of Collective Souls, on Boogie Bunker Radio. REPLAY - Old Skool house circa 1988 to 1993 – mainly Italo piano house with a few UK and USA flavours recorded from 2005 to the present day. I always like playing tunes from that era that are unknown or never played in the UK when released. It satisfies my craving to break `new` tunes – even though many are now around 20 years old. I also own a small record label by this name that specialises in legally reissuing Italian piano house classics.

Numark NS6 / Technics 1210's / Numark DM109 & Pioneer 800 mixer Allsorts :) http://www.nicksheldon.co.uk It all started off with my fascination for my dads records. I used to love playing the vinyl on his Pioneer deck, through his (then expensive) celestion Ditton 15 speakers which were powered by a luxman amp, which all added up to a very well rounded sound. I ALWAYS wanted a pair of decks that were in Argos....I never got them. My first record I owned I won at Stockton Brook bonfire. It was a Wings album, I played it to death. The first records I ever bought were two 7" Pretenders - 2000 miles and, Michael Jackson - Thriller. I used to buy all the Electro's on tape. Anyway, I loved hip hop, and every week I was up Roxy Roller Rink in Hanley, (most/all of you will know this venue by a different name now..The VOID..lol) doing my breaking thang. The turtle was my speciality. After we came out of there, we would go to the little indoor shopping arcade which housed the shop 'Fantasy World', and lay out the lino, turn up the ghettoblaster, and dance until they paid us to f**k off ;-) My first 'gigs' (in the broadest sense) were at 6th Form College Fenton, where I used to play tapes in the common room, that I'd mixed with the ghettoblaster (pause sampling). My first proper gig was at Staffs Polytechnic where I set up a couple of nights with my mate Andy (He now works as a voiceover guy for Channel 4). You can see from my past gigs that I played with some big groups. From there I then played at Evegreens 'interesting story'. I used to hang out with Daz Willot, and he was playing at Evergreens, and I used to help him on the nights sometimes. One night he was playing at another gig somewhere, so he asked me to play the night for him. I did, and it went down so well, that the owner told me he wanted me to do the nights instead, to which I replied 'I don't think so, this is my mates night', and I left. Week after, Daz and I turned up, and the told Daz they didn't want him anymore. Daz said he wasn't bothered as he had another weekly gig lined up anyway, and told me to take over the night (apparently Daz and the owner hadn't seen eye to eye for a while). The night was a great success, and got really packed every Wednesday night. From there I left and went to Minstrels. Well, his place was soon empty, as everyone followed me up to Mintrels. Minstrels was a superb place, small, and brand new, great decor. It was the perfect venue.....and that's where it REALLY started, the rest as they say is history. I first started taking an interest in dj'in around 1998 when I was into bouncy house & trance. I often visited a place called the Tram Shed in Halifax which was run by Pete Monsoon. Over the years I watched others mixing and soon picked it up, thus starting my addiction to vinyl. In 1999 I was introduced to the sounds of oldskool house and was hooked from the off. I have since narrowed down my own particular favourite genre - Italian house music for which I have to give thanks to one of the best teachers of the genre I have come across Rich Law AKA Vinylanimal who not only introduced me to italian house but taught me a lot. Over the years have built up a nice tidy collection. I enjoy a mix of both dj'in and chasing that illusive rare piece of vinyl. Relentlessly searching for unknown obscure italian gems to feed my ever increasing addiction. Over the years I have been lucky enough to dj at some of the north west of Englands most popular events and venues. I am part of a group of friends who love italian house and oldskool music called 'Mash House Productions' feel free to give our mixcloud and youtube page a visit www.mixcloud.com/mashhouse_productionswww.youtube.com/mashhouse

I once found a tape of unknown wonderfulness and searched for many years for any info as to what the hell it was. Wasting many a year in clubs playing bouncy house and hardcore, I finally attended a Timeless event, was introduced to OSA and there lay the answer to all my questions and more in the shape of a Vinylanimal. And so began my obsession with all house Italo, and my vinyl collection came into It’s own. A collector primarily, furiously failing to grasp the ability to beat match for 4 arduous years I concentrated on knowing my onions. Finally the penny dropped and I was able to just about string the buggers together, well enough to begin playing the odd warm up set and radio show. These days I’m a bit of a perfectionist, taking the time to orchestrate my mixings properly, broadening my horizons with outings into different genres and harping on a lot. I like to play the odd stuff, less “hands in the air” piano, more “subtly sophisticated, and a touch moody, nonsense”
