About me, I have been recording & mixing Latin Jazz & Salsa Gorda since 1977, I also mix Latin, house, dance classics, old school 1980's hip-hop and world music. I have also played live Latin Jazz percussion at the Blue note NYC, and at Cecil's Swingin' Latin jazz nights in Orange NJ. My musical mentors who taught me during my teenage years and in the Spanish Harlem percussion clinics include the jazz & salsa legends Ray Barretto, Tito Puente and Charlie Palmieri. I also love to play Latin percussion to just about everything especially the "Fania All-Stars", I have also mixed "salsa gorda" tunes for my brother from another mother and dear fellow friend Pedro Gomez back at Telemundo TV studios in Hato Rey PR, que viva la salsa por que aqui se formo la rumba!!!!

DJ Denise is no stranger to electronic music. From her meteoric rise in the San Francisco underground scene in the late-1990s under the guise DJ D, to now in her 19th year of DJing, Denise has played thousands of events and at most venues in San Francisco, California. She has travelled from Miami to Hawaii and everywhere in between, spreading her unique energy and style. Her nonchalant fader flicks and mixer tricks combined with seemingly effortless beatmatching skills are intriguing to many trainspotting fans. Denise also runs Mizumo Music, a quality label for house music. This Bay Area label boasts over 160 releases from local and international artists alike. Her music productions have been licensed by well-respected artists and labels including Ministry of Sound, DJ Shortee, Simply Jeff and Epiphyte Record’s “LovEvolution,” the official 2009 CD for San Francisco’s street festival modeled after Germany’s infamous Love Parade. In 2013, Denise was hand-picked by Insomniac's Discovery Project to perform at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, one of the largest festivals in the U.S. Despite her lengthy curriculum vitae, her favorite annual gig remains in the heart of San Francisco during Pride, where both old and new friends unite for an afternoon of dancing under the sun. When she's not DJing, you can find Denise working at an Emergency Department in Oakland, CA. I started deejaying when I was 14 years old. I remember my brother buying Technics 101. Then after he the famous 12 hundreds. The turntable we're and still to this day one of the best turntables that the Technics have ever brought out. I started spinning vinyl at an early age. One of my first DJ competitions was a roller skating rink called, USA. I was a mobile DJ for many year and then I started getting gig's doing Holiday floats for the radio station Hot 97 FM in New York City. I think it that it was a huge success in my part. I then started deejaying in a lot of unknown Clubs. Then I started going a lot famous club back then. All I know is that the best way to listen new and upcoming music was to be surrounded in all types of Clubs. There was a club to be in everyday of the week. I met many successful D jays like, Little Louie Vega, Roger Sanchez, Freddy Turner etc. One day my cousin got a break in the Copacabana. His name is Jason Hernandez. We were always a Team. We spun there for a few years at world famous Copacabana (the original one). Then I worked in record co, Dig- IT International (Irma USA). Then I got married and played in a few more Clubs. Now i'm spinning in parties and I still get the crowd Jumping!
