This is some of the old school I used to listen to when I was a kid in Mt. Vernon, Bronx NY.This was the time when house music was developing in New York,even though Chicago is credited with officially creating house music,I think New York City played a major role also, by adding the hip hop,disco and R & B sound to dance music.Alot of the original remixes in this mix were done by Larry Levan.The more I learn about Larry Levan and the Paradise Garage, the more I'm amazed by Larry Levan's geuinus.I was too young to go any of the classic dance clubs. At that time I was rollerskating and going to block parties,plus my pops was mad strict,so I had to sneak out.Of course the radio dj's also did some amazing things in particular dj Red Alert,he would mix hip hop,dance and R & B in a smooth continuous flow. I guess I'm trying to recreate what the old school dj's used to do, I miss those mixes.
