Fell in love with the genre house in 2005 when I got my hands on Terrence music box 2, I was blown away especially when I heard track 12, Rocco ft. Marcel – Memories a master piece. Real name Steven Khambule, Born on the 25 February 1988. Me and Padodo, who is also devoted to the genre House music formed a group called Music Massangers where we moved around Soweto playing @ weddings, 21 Birthdays, clubs (capello Gandhi square, cornerstone –Rooderpoort, boikhutlong and meriting pub. and other events as well. Then in 2009 I came across software called fruity loops. Started playing around with it for 2 years until I fully understood what is was all about. Then in 2011 I met Thabo Phiri also known dgobalo. Then we formed a group called MusiQWorks. MusiQWorks journey began with the release of Far Away EP, featuring Tebza on vocals. The EP was well received by the underground movement and busted big on the Johannesburg underground scene. It was then followed by the release(5 April 2013) of widely acclaimed EP ‘Cold Days ft Soul Swissy’, a fusion of tribal, deep and jazzy elements that truly define MusiQWorks sound. Cold Days continues to receive massive support locally and internationally, and have been featured in most of podcasts, Djs mixes and internet radio stations around the world. Due to the continued success of Cold Days EP, Cold Days Remix Edition EP will also be released at later date. MusiQWorks also produced for Soul Swissy much talked about EP ‘My Soul’, and they have also released more than six tracks all featuring unsigned artist, including the hit singles Dear Letter ft. Tebza and Skipper de Shirt and Happiness, available for free at sound cloud link. MusiQWorks popularity is certainly growing throughout its 3 year existence, as they have defined their sound within the Deep, Soulful, Afrosoul, Tribal and Dance house music genre. They have been featured on one of the influential house music community HMSN DJS selection, and got support from DJ KiK, Mariolina Gasprini, Sue Trott(Mamafeelgood), Electro Dub Collectives, just to name a few. Then 2013 I decided to also go solo. Then releases my first track called Rainy Friday with T. Castro. The track was well received in the underground music scene; the track supported by the likes of Vinny da Vinci, Dj decka mix, Dj kik, kev kruz to mention the few. Now in 2014, I will be releasing my first EP Called SA Meets Chicago. To be released in March. And also be in look out for me collaborating with local and international artist.
