Golden Era - All Vinyl - Liquid Funk Mix - 2005-2010
Recorded May 2017 for my girlfriend's birthday. The mix contains all of her favourite tunes from Drum & Bass which we end up playing time and again years after they were released. A real trip down memory lane for everyone who remembers this wonderful era of Soulful Drum & Bass. Recorded two days before the very sad news about Marcus Intalex passing away, this mix actually features a few tracks from his production group 'Mist:i:cal' made up of himself, Calibre and ST Files. A very large salute to Marcus for all the amazing music over the years across various genres. Hope everyone enjoys the mix as much as I did making it...

Opening track....- Yep, female croon and tracers (synth) set the vibe. 6:20 mark - MAAAAAN this SWINGS!!!!!!!!!!!! \\0// Male vocals, "I don't know if I really know you," and notice the pseudo-contentment keys (melody). 10:10 - Cool piano riff. 13:35 - VIBIN' duo gender croon, piano, and percussion. 17:35 - The pillowy chill before entering the subconscious. 21:15 - Very, very NICE. The female vocals and DREAMY bones (Rhodes) capture the city's isolation and walking phone drones. 25:45 - YAAAAA ROLLIN'!!!!!!!!!!! \\0// Female vocal loop, "Back for more," and reachin' for the debit card to cut them lines up (deep bassline chords). 30:05 - Steady momentum. 33:15 - HAAA YES, LUVIN' this!!!!!!!!!! Vibrant female vocals, "Lost in music," with deep resonance buttons (Rhodes). 38:00 - DREAMY indeed, all bout' those shrooms on this bit, and the Al Green vocal sample....nuff said. 42:45 - WHEW.... dat's dat' FLOW mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rasta male vocal loop, the horns, and drums have that perky vibe yo. 62:20 - Digitally blunted (that synth zap). 65:50 - Espionage. 68:40 - Sneaky mental. This is my second time hearing this track since 2017. The distorted, duo gender vocal hook is Instagram addictive, in the most sardonic of ways. 73:05 - Coda.... notice the synth rumble.
