technics sl1200mk2, ecler nuo 3.0, pioneer cdj 400, roland sp606 . . . He took his chance about the electronic music already at high schol, when CDs like MAYDAY, ACID where reaching our market right from the western Europe. This energy captivated him so much, he started running after parties and various workshops (Rondel Club 23, Guru Club). He experienced performance of DJ Bara (mikeFX) and DJ Mishek (stereodisco) that time. The decision was right under way. His production activity began. In 2001 he set up one-man project Caterpillar, and the very first CD was created. With the Stereodisco help he got to the legendary CLUBLAB (was played fall 2001). This CD of Caterpillar project is fusion of electro, break and triphop. About month after that two-men project S.T.V. was set up: Caterpillar & Jazzvec. The result was one CD, with content getting closer to house, tech-house and a little to techno. Remixes of course. The pieces were pretty much influenced by the german style. After school he set out for Germany for one year (2003), where got to know the equipment a little better. He bought first turntables and vinyls of higher quality. At the beginning, his playing was passing over techno, mostly the melodic one (dj Yany), later tech-house, funky house. Playing vinyls probably hadn’t been fulfilling him so much, as he bought a groovebox sampler – Roland SP606 in 2005, which he has been using for inserting of various sounds into dj mix. With the uniting of notebook and sound blaster M-audio firewire audiophile Caterpillar has become numero uno in live playing in the northern area of central Slovakia. Presently he has been working on new production under producer’s name Caterpillar and been sending demo CDs to various labels all around Europe – mostly german, english, dutch and French. As DJ he plays melodical techno, deephouse and house. In the LIVE ACT set – it’s not a problem for him to begin playing with ambient and gradually get through electro to drum’n’base. However, his field is house and all of its branches. You could heard his production in Funradio’s Clublab and in Extaza series on radio Frontinus.
