2 SL1210's
2 Pioneer CDJ-1000 MkIII
Pioneer DJM-600 mixer
PC to record on
Hi-Fi to play through (need to swap this for an AMP and speakers when I'm feeling flush...)
I keep a most of the Hed Kandi, Fierce albums kicking about, Stereo Sushi, some classic vinyl (but definately need to get the sound sorted for this - the volume level coming from the 1210's is FAR too low to be used!) and now that I've got the recording sound sorted will be visiting Traxsource a bit more regular.

<p style="padding-top: 4px; padding-right: 4px; padding-bottom: 4px; padding-left: 4px; ">Started 'mixing' in Philmores when I ;was a wee bairn, I ;use the term 'mixing' ;loosely... Sneaking in while it was shut, firing up the sound system and using Mr Bushby's records heh heh. DJ'd in a couple of pubs in the mid 90's but never really put as much effort in to making a career out of it as I ;could have.
Now I tend to make mixes of records I like (seeing as it's mainly me that listens to them) and this selfishness allows my disregard for age be a factor in whether or not I should play it. In other words, if it's good (and it fits) who gives a shit how old it is? I'm quite happy to play a track from the nineties right next to a recent track. Mainly play soulful/funky/disco house. Gone right away from bleep bleep pulse pulse over the years, discovering Strictly Rhythm in the 90's and falling in love with American Garage. The Fierce/Hed Kandi sound is (for me) the fusion of that mixed with disco - guaranteed to get you moving even if you aren't really a fan of the genre.
Oh yeah, and none of this practising a mix for weeks, writing down the speeds before recording. ;I ;mix live and tend to select the tracks as I'm going rather than work off a crib sheet, which is why after a mix that doesn't go right, if you listen hard enough, you can hear me screaming 'shiiiiiiitt!' in the background! (Not true, but you get the picture! - you can't hear it, but it does happen!)

Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Barry White, Fierce Angel (label, but wtf, same difference - should really put Mark Doyle here as there's also Hed Kandi and Stereo Sushi), Bonnie Bailey, Peyton, Eric Kupper are favourites atm... Dimitri, Joey Negro, DISCO! Soooo many!
