From a very young age, DJ Montoya has always had a love for music, but it wasn't until he was 15 that he realized how much of an importance it was to play in his life. Montoya attended a party in which he had a chance to try his hand at his very first mix, this is where his love turned into passion and his passion turned into an obsession. DJ Montoya was now born. Once Montoya turned 16 and was able to work, he purchased a pair of Numark Axis 9 CD decks and a Numark mixer and put together a little home studio setup. This is where he practised his mixing skills for hours on end, recording hundreds of mix CDs and attempting to master his sound. Fast forward 4 years where Montoya gained several key contacts including very good friend, Ryder DJ who have helped to further push his professional career. Montoya had the opportunity to develop his live portfolio by playing at nightclubs such as Zoo Bar in the West End, Tramps Nightclub in Worcester and Anexo in Farringdon. Even though Montoya had started his live clubwork career in late 2009, he has already achieved goals in which he believed should take alot longer - landing himself bookings at legendary nightclubs, Pacha and Ministry of Sound. DJ Montoya live is always a unique, unexpected and exciting experience. He doesn't rely on typical, 'boring' blending and transitions, instead he is normally heard chopping his way through tracks and experimenting with different sounds. Expect the very best in the spectrum of house - funky house, electro house, progressive house and more.
